Billy Crystal is back on HBO! It’s not a stand-up special, but a taping of his award-winning show 700 Sundays. Taped during a Broadway performance, he recounts his childhood.

700 Sundays

WGN America takes its first foray into scripted TV with the debut of Salem. (Yeah, the revolutionary unrest of the 1700’s is definitely getting its day with Sleepy Hollow and the upcoming Starz show, Outlander.) Salem is a different take on the Salem witch trials since this time, the witches are actually behind the witch hunting. Huh? Yeah, its going to be a unique take on history! Starring Shane West (Nikita, E.R.), Janet Montgomery, Seth Gabel (Fringe, Arrow) and Ashley Madekwe (Revenge), the show is run by Brannon Braga (Star Trek, 24, Flash Forward, Terra Nova) so it should make for interesting TV.

Salem

Scandal caps off the season with the explosive finale this week – literally as the bomb which threatens President Fitz will explode. Stay tuned for Jimmy Kimmel afterward for a special edition of his show entitled “Behind the Scandalabra” which will feature the show’s creator, a blooper reel and the complete “Escandalo” spoof.

Health check FX is renewing The Americans for a third season and A&E is heading back for a third stay at the Bates Motel! Lucky us as we’ll get to see Norman inch closer and closer to full Psycho status.

Bates Motel

Mad Men came back last week and fewer people tuned in. So strange as this was the show’s lowest premiere audience since the second season. Just goes to show how crowded that Sunday night schedule is with Game of Thrones, MTV Movie Awards and Showtime back on air.
