Underworld: Awakening Movie Premiere Report! Kate Beckinsale Looks Stunning And Signs Tons Of Autographs For Fans! Selene Herself!

Okay, at least Scotty shares my love of this guilty pleasure with me. I can only be talking about Underworld. Kate Beckinsale + Black Leather + Vampires I mean hello, wasn’t this series made for Mike The Fanboy? LOL… I have loved me some Kate Beckinsale for… Oh… Since Cold Comfort Farm and Last Days of Disco, and Much Ado About Nothing. Yeah, it’s been a while. In fact I used to have a Last Days of Disco mini poster on my bedroom wall for a long long time back in Michigan. (and yes that poster is now signed by the cast, heh heh heh).

Anyway, today is the day… The day we’ve been waiting for… The Underworld: Awakening premiere! Even though it’s really only one person we’re waiting for it’s still fun to be at an Underworld premiere. Call me a tad nostalgic. CB is holding Scotty, Erica and I space cause he’s a Kate Beckinsale fan as well. So, hopefully, this will be a success!

5:04 p.m. – I just arrived and I see that I’m getting the shaft as far as a spot goes. Erica, and Scotty both snagged their spaces and CB gave me the shaft. Nice… Feel the love. I suppose all those Olivia Wilde magazines I had extras of, will just go to the poor.

5:12 p.m. – I’m behind Erica and Scotty and I still have room to get my mini poster in there. If I get one or two I’m happy. I do have three things for Ms. Kate Beckinsale. I have my UK Quad mini poster of Serendipity, my Underworld: Awakening mini poster, and my Underworld: Evolution mini poster as well. I also brought my Esquire magazine from a few years back. The sad truth is, I will always have something for Kate Beckinsale.

5:34 p.m. – Dude, it is so so so so cold… And there are three or four lanes of traffic to cross… The carpet is pretty basic.

5:41 p.m. – There are a bunch of people here waiting, I wasn’t really sure how many would be here considering it’s only Kate but I figured it might be a lot.

5:47 p.m. – Arrivals are supposed to start at 6:30. Did I mention it’s getting a tad frigid. I mean like… It’s damn cold… lol…

5:54 p.m. – Scotty has his Interview With A Vampire one sheet for Stephen Rea but I don’t think he’s going to come to this. lol… Scotty did a great job getting it ready though.

6:05 p.m. – Oh Lord, this crazy guy on Hollywood Blvd, keeps riding his bike back and forth in front of us. He’s wearing a green shower curtain, and a purple feather hat… Really dude… Ah Hollywood… You have to love it and hate it.

6:19 p.m. – The guy just rode by again and said “You can look at me again!” Someone yelled out, “We don’t want to.” The shower curtain guy yells out, “Well Fuck you!” Good times…

6:31 p.m. – It’s starting! And there is no one here… Yeah!

6:39 p.m. – Scotty and Erica are getting their posters ready.

I’m thinking that Kate will show up about half way though the carpet’s allotted time…

6:45 p.m. – A couple more people have arrived.. No one of interest yet…

6:54 p.m. – I figured Kate Beckinsale would have been here by now… hmmmmm…..

7:01 p.m. – Oh, there’s… Michael Ealy. People are yelling for him and he’s coming on over. He’s signing a bit.

Personally, I only want Kate on my poster so I don’t hold it out.

But Michael is super nice and goes really far down the line. Erica got him on her poster.

7:11 p.m. – Wow, Kate is super late. And I didn’t even mean for that to rhyme. Crazy.

7:16 p.m. – I mean.. The carpet ends in 15 minutes. I’m surprised she’s not here yet. This is not good for us… Grumble…

7:23 p.m. – Still no sign of Kate… Wait, there’s a car… Everyone is yelling and screaming, and chanting Kate, Kate, Kate… and… It’s not her. Doh!

7:28 p.m. – Wow, the carpet ends in two minutes…

7:32 p.m. – Still nadda…

7:36 p.m. – Oh, finally an SUV! Yep, it’s Kate…

The photographers are going crazy… We keep yelling and chanting. Finally, the car moves and we can see her.

She’s coming right on over! She heads to the middle of the barricade, and starts to sign. She makes her way down to our end and is just signing her life away.

7:37 p.m. – I have my Serendipity poster out and I ask Kate to sign it. She sees it and signs it right in the middle.

Then Scotty, Erica and I have our Underworld: Awakening mini posters out and she hits them almost one by one by one…

7:38 p.m. – Kate gets both of Scotty’s Underworld:Awakening mini posters, I take off and go a bit farther down the line.

I have my Underworld: Evolution mini poster and I’m holding it out… CB is next to me and is trying to crush another family of four. Kidding, I finally get Kate’s attention and she signs my poster before she heads back to the press line.

Whew… It was a long night, and I’m shocked Kate signed as much as she did considering she was so late. I got three posters signed so I’m super stoked.

Scotty gets the Anushika award of the night for his brilliant photos of Kate Beckinsale that Lord only knows how he got! Great job my friend!
