Box Office Breakdown! Noah Hits #1! Divergent Holds For #2! Sabotage Bombs! Doh!

Are you not entertained? America certainly was by Noah, who celebrated a $44 million opening in the top spot. Though it exceeded Studio expectations, Noah has a long way to go to recoup its $125 million budget.

Divergent slipped to number two, but collected a hefty $26 million, bringing its domestic total to $95 million.

Muppets Most Wanted nabbed another $11 million in the number three spot and should recoup its $50 million budget, but I definitely wouldn’t call this one a win.

Mr. Peabody & Sherman came in at number four with $9.5 million to its $95 million domestic total. But with a bloated budget of $145 million, this animated film is a dog.

God’s Not Dead , the indie flick that came from nowhere, scored the number five spot along with another $9 million.

The Grand Budapest Hotel moved up a floor to number six with $8.8 million.

Sabotage bombed, opening at number seven with just $5.3 million. Too bad. Aside from Schwarzenegger, it’s a great cast.

Need for Speed is almost out of gas, coming in at number eight with $4.3 million for a domestic total of $37 million.

300: Rise of An Empire is still slaying tickets sales at number nine with $4.3 million.

Rounding out the top ten was Non-Stop, with $4 million towards its $85 million domestic total. Hear that tick tack noise? That’s the sounds of Non-Stop 2 being written.

Next week is a no-brainer with Captain America easily taking the top spot. But just how much will it make? I’m guessing upwards of $85 million. In fact, I’ll call it here and say it will make over $100 million. Tune in to see if I’m right.
