Man, this weekend didn’t light the box office on fire, in fact the most notable thing to happen this weekend was that the worst reviewed film in Rotten Tomatoes history, Ethan Hawke’s Getaway.
Still Suddenly Susan got one right! One Direction took the top spot this weekend!
Check out this weeks Box Office Breakdown after the jump!

Thanks to the boys from One Direction, I correctly predicted this week’s number one movie!
Pre-teen hearts swooned and their parents forked over $17 million in cash, helping One Direction This Is Us take the number one movie spot.
Lee Daniel’s The Butler swept up another $14.7 million, making its three week total over $74 million.
We’re the Millers, a comedy that cost just $37 million to make, took in another $12.6 million, adding to its total domestic gross of almost $110 million! Way to go Jason and Jen.
Planes held tight at the number four spot, gaining another $7.7 million.
Lionsgates’ little foreign film gem, Instructions Not Included, took in an impressive $7.5 million.
Elysium is still hoping to break even, with a total domestic gross of $78 million, after adding another $6.3 million this week in the number six spot.
The Mortal Instruments, City of Flop, I mean Bones, grabbed only $5.2 million and should find its way out of the top ten by next week.
The World’s End is headed for extinction, nabbing the number eight spot after just two weeks in release.
The worst reviewed film of 2013 managed to break into the top ten at number nine with just $4.5 million. Looks like audience chose to Getaway from this movie entirely.
Rounding out the top ten was Percy Jackson Sea of Monsters. The movie, like the title character, has a lot of heart.
