Intro to EW Pop fest
Last month on Halloween weekend Entertainment Weekly had their 2nd annual EW Pop Fest in Los Angeles. The first one was in New York City last year so apparently they felt like trying it over on the West Coast. It was held a couple of blocks over from the Los Angeles Convention Center and even with the rainy weekend pop culture fans came out to see their favorite actors, writers and producers. There was one main building that used four rooms– two for panels, one Podcast room and another for book authors.
Then outside in a large lot there was a music stage set up for the likes of Nick Jonas and Janelle Monae. For your interactive pleasure there was a karaoke stage, a Survivor TV show setup where you could try your luck at the skill challenges, Starz and The Voice had booths so you could take pictures of yourself as a part of their shows and several other exhibits.
To make sure you never had to venture off if you were hungry there was a variety a food trucks parked in a section and several beer and liquor bars setups to compliment whatever tasty entrée you had. The lot was very spacious and spread out with ample room to walk around and places to sit and eat if you desired. And at least for me being able to have a tall can of beer while watching my panels inside is the best thing possible. Alright on with the show!
