2012 SAG Awards Night Autograph Madness! With Tilda Swinton! Jessica Chastain! Armie Hammer! Kenneth Branagh! Modern Family Cast! Sofia Vergara! Jean Dujardin! Dexter Cast! and More!

I generally don’t head out and about on award show nights. But tonight I was like… Well… It might be worth a shot. It’s the SAG Awards, and since it’s one of the lower key award shows… I figured… Well… Hell, let’s go. Scotty was game to head out and so after he picked me up we ventured off into the great unknown. Now, it’s hard to figure who will we see, and who will be out so we are literally packed to the gills with crap. I kind of hate that… But what the hell…

4:45 p.m. – We are about to head out and since I have the pleasure of watching Mr. Theo this weekend, the official MTF mascot, he’s not happy I’m leaving… I’m totally getting the stink eye… lol…

5:34 p.m. – Scotty and I made it downtown and are wandering about. We got a tip about a place to wait but honestly, it doesn’t look good. Its far for people to cross, and no one else is here.. Doh!

6:02 p.m. – Okay, I keep thinking of this look at Theo gave me… Awww..

6:12 p.m. – There are a bunch of college kids hanging about… I think they are looking for the Glee kids… So, we are hanging here. There is a barricade and tons of police, but we’re not sure who is going to come over… If anyone…

6:32 p.m. – Emily Blunt just left… and there goes Steve Carrell… Wow, Steve actually waved.. lol… This doesn’t look good… but… We’re going to give it a second. There are a few other collector’s here but mainly just kids from the dorms.

6:43 p.m. – Alec Baldwin is leaving.. He’s coming on over…

See, this is when it kind of sucks, because I don’t have anything for him. Ah well, it was cool of him to come over. He wasn’t doing photos so what can you do right?

6:57 p.m. – Wow, this does not look good. Tina Fey did the, “I can’t hear you I’m on a phone call” thing… Some of the Glee kids actually hid… Michelle Williams is leaving now and waved…

7:05 p.m. – We see James Cromwell from Six Feet Under and The Artist leaving. Oh, and there’s Sarah Hyland from Modern Family…

7:06 p.m. – Sarah gets in the car and James Cromwell comes over.

Then the car stops and Sarah Hyland gets out to sign as James Cromwell is signing as well. I have some Modern Family stuff, but nothing I’m going to die over.

7:07 p.m. – James is signing for the entire line and Sarah is taking her time…

There are quite a few college kids waiting now…

7:11 p.m. – James Cromwell is so so so so nice!

He signs for everyone who asks and then Sarah does the full line. I got her on one of my Modern Family cast photos I’ve been working on.

7:13 p.m. – Oh, there’s Jessica Chastain! She is so sweet. People call her and she comes right on over!

Her publicist keeps saying we don’t have time for photos and Jessica keeps on doing them. LOL…

7:23 p.m. – Again, I don’t have anything for Jessica but it’s great of her to come over.

I hope she continues to be this nice! Sarah and Jessica are signing at the same time. lol…

7:27 p.m. – There’s Armie Hammer from The Social Network and Mirror, Mirror. He is very nice and comes over.

Again, I have nothing for him… Ah well…

7:34 p.m. – Sissy Spacek left… and a bunch of glee people… Just waves… I don’t really blame people for not doing it, it’s a tad chaotic here, but there are enough police present that it’s safe.

7:38 p.m. – Jean Dujardin is running over.

I finally have something for someone!

LOL.. He is super nice and comes right on over and signs my The Artist poster. I’m calling it finished!

7:39 p.m. – Jean is super nice and signing for pretty much everyone.

7:41 p.m. – Missi Pyle is running over now, and dammit I don’t have my Galaxy Quest poster… Grrrrrrrr I love Missi Pyle, I think she’s hysterical. She’s a little over whelmed but very nice to everyone. I got a photo with her but it’s a tad washed out because a bunch of people flashed her when we posed for the photo… Sigh…

7:46 p.m. – Ariel Winter is running over now.. She is always really nice.

She signs for everyone. I got her on my Modern Family cast photo. So freaking nice!

7:52 p.m. – There’s Octavia Spencer! She is coming over… But standing in front of the crowd posing… So we can take a photo of her… I hold my Help poster out and she goes to the other end of the barricade and does a series of odd dances, and poses… I don’t really understand what the hell she’s doing. Someone asked her for a photo and she said, “I’m not doing that.”

Ummm okay… So, why did you come over to the crowd… To pose looking like a freak?

She comes our way and Scotty and I have our stuff out and ask her to sign, and she looked at it in disdain and then walked right past continuing to pose so people can gaze upon her… Odd…. Just odd…

7:54 p.m. – I’m in shock over what Octavia Spencer just did… Literally she pulled a Bruce Willis from the Red premiere… and let me tell you… After being in one movie… That’s not a career honey. When your biggest credit before the Help is an under five on The Big Bang Theory you need to be a tad more grateful…

8:02 p.m. – OMG! There’s Tilda Swinton! Now, I know you guys know what a huge fan of hers I am… She literally shines when walking out of the Shrine… Everyone calls her over and she is so kind, she literally just walks around cars to meet the fans.

She starts on one end and just goes to town. Posing for photos, signing, talking to people… I love her!

8:04 p.m. – She’s taking so much time I’m nervous she won’t get to us. I have my The Deep End mini poster and my Michael Clayton mini poster for her. Scotty and I start chanting to let her know to come this way.

Tilda walks right over to us and signs my Deep End poster and then I asked her to sign the Michael Clayton poster as well. She says to me, “You came prepared!” I was like, hell yeah! lol…

8:05 p.m. – There’s Kristen Wiig. She is coming on over.

I’m shocked… Damn, I didn’t bring my Adventureland poster!

Grrrrrr… She is doing a few photos but quickly runs back to her car. It was nice of her to come over though..

8:06 p.m. – Tilda Swinton is still going!

8:15 p.m. – Some of the kids on the other side are calling Harry Shum, Jr. to come over. He literally comes over for a hot second and then leaves.

8:35 p.m. – Simon Helberg from The Big Bang Theory is leaving and we are are calling for him. He doesn’t even wave. Man, this cast used to be so so so nice… Man, what success will do!

8:37 p.m. – Simon runs over and takes a quick photo with a girl and then runs back… Sigh…

8:47 p.m. – I miss the old time when the cast of The Big Bang Theory was really nice, lol…

9:01 p.m. – Oh crap, there’s C.S. Lee and David Zayas from Dexter.

Scotty goes crazy for them. It’s literally one of our favorite shows.

David is super nice and comes right to us. I get him to sign my season 6 poster and Scotty has him sign his season 2 poster.

9:02 p.m. – C.S. Lee comes right to us as well and signs and signs…

So nice! Someone asked C.S. Lee what was in his swag bag, and C.S. Says… “Porn!” Love it!

9:23 p.m. The SAG Awards set is driving by us now… lol…

9:45 p.m. – Well, I think we are going to call it here… We got a tip about a party so we might head on over there…

10:23 p.m. – Okay, so our night isn’t over after all! LOL… I hate long nights like this… I have to tell you! We arrive to the party and holy hell there’s Julie Bowen getting ready to leave. I have her on pretty much everything I need her on so I don’t bother her.

She really nice and signs for everyone.

10:35 p.m. – Jesse Tyler Ferguson is here, and he’s about to leave.

I need Jesse on two of my posters so I have Scotty help me with one. He’s really nice and is happy to sign for everyone as he leaves.

10:48 p.m. – Desmond Harrington from Dexter is leaving. I whip out my Season 6 poster and have him sign it.

Scotty already has Desmond on his poster so he doesn’t ask. Desmond is hit and miss, but he’s being really nice tonight.

11:03 p.m. – It’s getting a tad chilly… There are about 10 dealers/collector’s here…

11:09 p.m. – Aaron Paul is going inside. He is super nice.

I asked him to sign my Breaking Bad season 4 promo set and he was all stoked to see it. He wrote “Don’t do meth” on the front as well… LOL…

11:22 p.m. – Diana Agron is leaving… She is being swarmed.

Man, Diana is really nice though and signing for people.

I got her on my Glee cast poster and I’m kicking myself for not bringing my GQ magazine and Rolling Stone! Doh! Ah well…

11:29 p.m. – Chord Overstreet is leaving. He is waiting in the valet line and then someone asks for a photo. He turns around and has his car pick him up at the top so no one can get near him… Sigh… Douche!

11:43 p.m. – Sofia Vergara is leaving. She has her car pick her up at the top and then after some pleading from the dealers she rolls down. I think she’s a tad drunk, lol… But she’s nice enough to sign. She signs one of my posters but not on the right spot… sigh..

But she’s hard to get so at least it’s signed… ah well, nothing is ever perfect right?

11:49 p.m. – Kenneth Branagh is leaving. He’s happy to sign, but again I don’t have anything for him. Grumble… I did manage to get a really crappy photo with him though… Man, it’s my night for crappy photos lol…

12:01 a.m. – Penelope Ann Miller is leaving… She stops and signs for everyone, but I don’t have anything for her. Still, I think it’s great when people stop.

12:21 a.m. – Guy Pierce is leaving now… He’s getting picked up at the top… I have my Priscilla laserdisc for him but alas he wouldn’t roll down. He was laughing though someone said, which I’m not sure how to take.

12:35 a.m. – Glenn Close is leaving… She’s… A tad drunk… and getting picked up in a cab. I know she signed a lot going in, but I wanted to stay and see if she would sign some on the way out.

I said, “Ms. Close would you mind signing my Mars Attacks poster” her reply. “No thank you.” Crushed… But if you saw her she was clearly not in the mental place to be signing I guess… lol… Ah well…

So, Scotty and I decide to pack it in… Not like we got an amazing haul, and honestly it probably wasn’t worth all the time we put in. However, having good company is always nice. Plus, getting Tilda Swinton made my night. Octavia Spencer however was a shocker… An ounce of success really can go to someone’s head… Man oh man…
