And They’re Off World Movie Premiere! AKA The Day I Met Colonel Mustard Mr. Martin Mull! Along With Sean Astin! Mark Moses Laura San Giacomo!

Today is what I’m calling Martin Mull day… Yep, I know that probably means less than nothing to most of you but to me… It means a lot. See Martin Mull was Colonel Mustard in one of the all time cult classics Clue: The Movie and I have been wanting to meet him for like 10 years… Oh course I need him on my Clue memorabilia, but I’m also a huge fan. Martin is supposed to be at the premiere of And They’re Off… which stars Sean Astin and Cheri Oteri.

CB was supposed to help me, but he ditched me at the last minute saying, “I’m on my way” and then not showing. Nice. Thankfully, Anushika is here with me. She’s a huge Lord of the Rings fan so she is very excited about meeting Sean Astin. As am I actually. A big thank you to all the Mike The Fanboy readers who let me know about this event as well! Gracias!

3:23 p.m. – Anushika just showed up and of course I’m having a quick chip and salsa snack at Baja Fresh. Ah, good times… We’re deciding what to do. Wait here or head over… I did a recon mission earlier and nothing was set up yet…

3:34 p.m. – Okay we’re here… Wow… There’s nothing set up… We don’t even see any other collectors… Okay… Well.. Let’s see what happens!

3:45 p.m. – Anushika even brought her Clue: The Movie VHS! lol… She’s not just getting her autograph book signed this time!

3:53 p.m. – I have my Clue: The Movie promo mobile and my Clue: The Movie piece I’ve been working on forever! lol… I also have my Lord Of The Rings mini poster for Sean Astin and my friend’s Goonies mini poster as well. Oh, and I have my Mad Men cast signed mini poster I’ve been working on in case Mark Moses comes in.

4:03 p.m. – Mike The Fanboy is on the red carpet for this one as well. I just said hi to Calihan who is there for MTF! Yep, I’m shortening Mike The Fanboy… Does MTF sound douchey?

4:11 p.m. – I think the carpet starts at 4:15 but… Oh crap!

Mark Moses just showed up… There are a few other collector’s here and a couple undesirables…

Nothing too bad though… Mark is talking so I don’t want to bother him. It only takes one person to break the conversation and then everyone tends to swarm, lol..

4:16 p.m. – Mark is super cool. he’s just hanging out, and he is signing some things. I told Mark how much I enjoyed him on Desperate Housewives, and he was like yes… But this (pointing to my Mad Men poster)… I was like, Oh, I know… I do love Mad Men!

4:24 p.m. – Okay, we’re just waiting now… I’m so happy Anushika is here.. I’m nervous about Martin Mull… I can not describe how long I’ve waiting to meet him… Seriously….

4:29 p.m. – Oh crap, there he is! I just stopped in my tracks… Anushika tells me I’m making her nervous lol… We wait until Martin is done talking and then politely ask him if he would mind signing. He says sure, and then I tell him what a huge fan I am an how I used to watch Fernwood 2 Night when I was a kid.

He said, “You are too young to have seen that.” I said no, they syndicated it and I used to stay up and watch it. LOL… I then went on and on about Clue: The Movie as well.

4:31 p.m. – hopefully, I’m not babbling too much. LOL.. Martin Mull is happy to sign both of my Clue pieces and then he takes a photo with me.

He also signs Anushika’s VHS cover as well. We thank him, and I didn’t pass out. lol…

4:42 p.m. – Oh, and there’s Sean Astin. He signed for a few people but Anushika and I are too slow… damn… Ah well… So, now we’re waiting until Sean is done with the carpet.

4:49 p.m. – Here’s a random spot! It’s Laura San Giacomo from Just Shoot Me and Pretty Woman! I love her! Kit KAT! lol… Cinder – Fuckin – Rella! Damn I wish I had my Pretty Woman mini poster! Grrrr… Laura is nice enough to pose for a photo and sign an index card for Anushika!

4:49 p.m. – It’s such a nice day, and I can’t believe I just met Martin Mull! Whoo hoo!

4:59 p.m. – Sean Astin is leaving the carpet. Anushika and I approach and let me tell you, Sean Astin is such a nice guy.

I mean like damn nice. He’s like, “I’m in a hurry guys, but okay.” Sean personalizes Scott’s Goonies poster and then signs my Lord of the Rings poster.

He then signs Anushika’s DVD insert and does a quick photo with Anushika before he goes in.

Such a nice simple day. I mean it’s so nice when you get to meet someone you really like and who’s work you love and they are super cool. I mean that to me is a great day. And special thanks to Anushika for the awesome photos! We don’t call her Awesome Anushika for nothing!
