Awesome Anushika Travels To Australia And Visits The Filming Locations For The Matrix! X-Men Origins: Wolverine! Stealth And More! Part 1 Of Her Journey!
I’m so excited that Anushika has finally graced her way back to the hallowed pages of Mike The Fanboy! I miss her so much!!! Sigh… Sadness… Anushika just got back from a trip to the Land Down Under AKA Australia! How jealous am I? It sounds like am amazing trip and while she was there, Anushika just couldn’t resist doing some Fangirling!
So, since this is such an amazing trip, I decided to break it down into three parts. The first part is all about the filming locations for The Matrix, Stealth, and X-Men Origins: Wolverine!
It’s awesome! Check it out after the jump!

What comes to your mind when I say feisty kangaroos and cuddly koalas? Yes, it’s none other than the wonderful land down under, AUSTRALIA! =) I had the pleasure of visiting Sydney last May for my cousin’s wedding. It was a brief trip, but the fan girl in me was determined to squeeze some stalking into my to-do list.
As soon as I booked my flight, I started my research on famous film locations in Sydney. There were a few interesting articles and websites. Since I haven’t been able to do much in Hollywood lately, I was really excited about this trip.
The Matrix Trilogy, Superman Returns, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Mission Impossible-2, and Stealth are among the many awesome movies made in Australia. My cousin Pinky (Yes, I have another Pinky in Australia =D) was my partner in crime.
Sydney was used extensively during the filming of The Matrix.
Martin Place was used and of course the fountain made a striking appearance on the big screen.
Neo sees the women in red near the fountain…
and not far up from the fountain in the Colonial Building close by is where Neo rescued Morpheus from Agent Smith by jumping out of the chopper.
The Sydney Central Business District is certainly a fascinating place. I enjoyed walking and exploring all the nukes and crannies.
As we were walking down, I caught a glimpse of an odd little ally from the corner of my eye off the main street. There were some shiny structures hanging from above.
Chandeliers? It was hard to tell since it was pretty hidden away. I just had to check it out. The closer we got, I started to realize that they were metal bird cages. It totally looked like a part of Diagon Alley from Harry Potter. That was Exciting! =D
X-Men Origins: Wolverine is one of my favorite movies. I LOVE me some Hugh Jackman. Then again, who doesn’t??? lol… I really didn’t have much time to visit some of the islands they used, but did manage to visit the Centennial Park where they filmed the opening scene in which Logan and Victor runs through a pine forest.
It’s a pretty big location, so it was almost impossible to pin-point an exact location. I tried! ^_^
Fox Studios is right next to the park, so how can I not stop by. I know I won’t be able to go in, but I was hoping to take a photo right up front of the gates.
To my disappointment, they increased security near the studios and no one was allowed anywhere near the gates. I just barely managed to get a glimpse of the tower. I guess that was as close as I was going to get to it. Sadness! =/ Oh well, I move on….
The next day I get to travel out of Sydney. My cousins took me to Blue Mountains. It was absolutely gorgeous! =D and after the trip I found out that these mountain ranges were depicted as the borders of North and South Korea in Stealth.
Wait for the next two installments for Mission Impossible and Superman Returns locations!!
