Billy Beer Heads Down To WWE Summer Slam Axxess 2012! With Rybeck! Santino Marella! Hornswoggle! Antonio Cesaro! Aksana! Tyson Kidd! Justin Gabriel!

One thing I love about his hobby is all the different people and different things you can be a fan of. In this case, Billy Beer is a huge wrestling fan. Now, I have not really been following the “sport” for a long long time. Back in the day I remember going to Wrestlemania with my dad and liking certain wrestlers but that has been a long long time ago.

I should dig up my old wrestling action figures and give them to Billy Beer lol…

Billy headed down to the WWE Summer Slam Axxess event where you can up close and personal with a lot of the wrestling stars. I’m not sure I want to get that up close and personal but you know… That’s all good. LOL…

Welcome back to Billy Beer’s Barstool!  Today I’m sorry to say you’re going to have to pay a cover.  It seems that the bar has decided to get some pay-per-view this evening.  And we don’t want people ordering pops (that’s what us midwest folks call it) and water the whole time taking up our tables so there’s no turn over.  Then our poor servers who had to get you refill after refill gets $1 on a $3 tab.  Not saying people are cheap, just saying I know people who keep their McDonald’s cups to get free refills!  Well, today we’re showing Summer Slam 2012 on all of our big screens, and I’m hoping we got some Stone Cold drinkers in the house today!



Each fanboy adventure, I feel like you find out more and more about Billy Beer.  Today you will find out about my love for wrestling.
WARNING!!!  IF YOU BELIEVE WRESTLING IS REAL, DO NOT READ BEYOND THIS POINT!!!!!!!



Now I’m not one of the crazy guys that believe in this stuff.  I don’t dress up and memorize every catchphrase.

I do enjoy the entertainment factor of it, and enjoy many of the ENTERTAINERS.  I can still remember waking up in the morning and watching a cartoon version of Hulk Hogan and friends.  Junk Yard Dog was my favorite, and I still have his toy.  Then my college years were filled with hours of watching WCW and WWE battle it out for ratings.  For the past 3 years, my buddy Travis and I have gone to the Summer Slam Axxess events.  Where you can meet and get autographs from a number of the wrestlers past and present.  It’s been a blast the past 2 years, and we have a system down.  Hoping this year we can break our autograph record.  Let the adventures begin.

The first session starts at 11am.  Travis and I don’t know what to expect, so we get there around 9:30.  The line is not long at all, maybe 40 people.

Everything looks like the same as years past.  We come up with our game plan.  I’m going to run to what is usually the longest line while Travis gets us our programs to get signed.  Boy it’s hot! Good thing I brought 3 shirts to change in and out of.  It’s going to be a long day.  MONTAGE!  The gate finally open up, and we are on our way.  There are 2 lines, a VIP line and GA line.  The VIP line get to go in first.  they will get to meet one of the bigger named stars with their VIP status.  I run up to the first signing area.  Surprisingly I am 3rd in line.  WOW!  It’s for Alicia Fox, and yes she is.  She signs my book as I tell her I saw her at Comic Con.  She told me it was a blast!




Next up is Santino Marella. He one of the belt holders, and has a hand sock gimmick that he uses in the ring.  He’s a bit quieter, but also poses and signs my program

No respectable wrestling federation goes without a little person.  We run over to the line for Hornswoggle.  Travis needs him in his book.  (Travis has the WWE Encyclopedia which his is trying to get as many wrestlers in it that he can)  He’s really cool.  even draws a mustache on someone else in Travis’ book.




Next is Antonio Cesaro and Aksana.  These 2 are dressed up!  They must be boiling!









We run over to the Ring after they sign.  One of the more popular Divas AJ is doing a Q & A for the fans, and I just wanted to get some pictures of her.  I love how people ask them questions that have to do with their character and not themselves.  Like “why did you leave Daniel Bryan at the alter?”  Um maybe cause it was in the story line?

That was the end of part one of the first session.  Now they rotate new wrestlers in for more autographs.  First up is Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel.  These are 2 of the lesser wrestlers, but they and both super nice. 




Off to get another autograph for Travis’ book, Natalya.  We got her a couple of years ago, but Travis didn’t have his book then.  She looks GREAT!  I’m used to seeing them in all these diva outfits.  She wore her hair normal and it’s all flashy, and it does her well!  Oh, by the way, notice shirt change #1




Next where back to filling Travis book with a guy named Tensai.  Now here is one of the things that cracks me up about wrestling.  When they try and change someone’s ethnicity and it’s SOOOO off.  This guy is supposed to be from Japan with drawn on tattoos!  LOL.  He used to be Prince Albert (yes that was his name).  Funny how things change.  This was actually the first wrestler and one of the only ones to kinda be a dick.






Up next is Alberto Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez.  Albero is kind of a big name.  He’s been WWE Champion before.  Travis actually knows Ricardo.  Travis has actually been involved with wrestling for years.  A “manager” and “publicist” is among his many characters.  He’s also has been involved with some of behind the scenes activities with Westcoast Wrestling (PLUG).  I let Travis go first so he can talk a little more to the guys, and then get my program signed.







WOW!  That’s it for session 1, two more to go!  There’s only one thing to do now during our 1 hour break…….BEER AND PIZZA!

Alright, we just got the schedule for the 2nd session, and my girl Kelly Kelly is going to be there.  I told Travis that’s are first stop, and he has no objections.  And there she is…….WOW!  She is looking good.
 

She signs for the handicap people first.  I must take a picture of this to show what a nice person she is :)




Her handlers are being pretty strict.  They don’t want people taking posed pictures.  LOL, Please, this ain’t Travis and My first Rodeo. She’s signing what as soon as you put something down.  So I tell her I really don’t want an autograph, I really just wanted a picture.  Ha!  she’s already done signing her name and then poses.  Score!  Fanboying is so much easier with a great camera wingman!




Then we go to Rybeck.  They’re making a big push for him, doing one of those Goldberg unbeaten runs.  He was probably one of the realest wrestlers we met.  Really cool, and honest.  And he’s a BIG DUDE!

Back to filling up Travis’ book.  We got Primo and Epico.  I don’t really know who they are, but you might of heard of their manager Rosa Mendes.  She was the wrestler that went all crazy at the airport cause her wrestling boyfriend abused her.  It was all over TMZ for a day.  Well she wasn’t there, but the guys were nice.




Next stop on Travis’ book, The Big Red Machine Kane!  This is probably the biggest name to be signing for the GA fans.  I get up to him, and the firs thing he does is go “MAN!  You are RED!”  I guess I’ve gotten a little sun!  Oh, I forgot to mention at the Kelly Kelly picture.  I’m now on shirt #3!  I feel bad for him cause he has to wear a mask in this weather.  He’s sweating his butt off too!






Wow, we are flying through this round.  Next up is William Regal and Damien Sandow.  I’m hoping we can get through these guys fast and then make it over to take pictures with a couple of the Divas posing for “Money in the Bank” pictures.  Man this line is moving slow.  These guys are signing and taking pictures with everyone.  That’s fine, cause it means we’ll get the same, but Regal is talking to everyone.  And I’m not talking about hi how are you.  These guys are in character telling everyone long stories whether they want to hear them or not.  This line should have only taken 30.  We’re an hour in now.  People are really starting to get pissed, including myself.  Finally after an hour and a half, I get up there.  I say hi and tell them thank you.  Regal tries to start telling me a story, and I tell him, “look, there are a lot of people in line, and I want you to get through as many as you can, thank you for the autograph.”  I move on to the next guy, and the lady bitching before me, is backing up the line.  She telling them her life story!  Really, after all the bitching she did, now she’s the one holding up the line.  AGH!  We finally get pictures and go on our way.



Great!  They shut down the Divas line.  Well, now to work my fanboy magic.  If you wait, sometimes after they are done signing, they’ll sign a few more if you have a pen ready while they walk away.  This is no new knowledge for graphers, but most of these people have no idea.  Travis and I get in position.  First to come over is the Ladies Champ Layla.  She is super nice.  She asks to borrow my pen for other people, and I tell her only if I get a picture when she’s done.  She says “of course, anything for you!”  (Can I get in trouble for misquoting?)  🙂 




While Layla is signing, Kaitlyn is just standing there.  I ask her if she’ll come over, and she walks right up to us.  I get another pen and have her sign my program also, and then get a pic.




The day is done!  We grab our stuff and then go back for a few more brews.  It’s been a long day.  On the way back to the car, we pass the hotel.  Boom!  There’s WWE GM John Laurinaitis.  Nice Spot Billy!  Get my book open super fast and add one final auto for the day.




Now normally I would say time to go it’s happy hour somewhere, but this is only day #1.  I need to get some sleep!  Get ready for Day #2 here soon!
