Billy Beer Wrestles Up An Amazing Day Meeting WWE Star Matt Hardy! UFC Champ Royce Gracie! And Hottie Reby Sky! Autographs! Photos! And More!

If there’s a wrestling story here at MTF, it has to be Billy’s story! LOL… I love it though, because you know what, everyone has their passions! I may not love wrestlers or sports stars but it makes me so happy to read reports of other people’s fandom!

Welcome back to Billy Beer’s Barstool.  Today Travis “The Publicist” Drinking Wingman is with me, which can only mean one thing……. Wrestlers!!!!  Today we’re off to the City of Industry to see former WWE Star and multiple Tag Team Champion Matt Hardy of the Hardy Brothers.  Travis has a couple of spots for him to sign in his WWE Encyclopedia.  And for those of you who like real fighting I’m there to see UFC 1, 2, and 4 Champion, Hall of Famer, The Legend, Royce Gracie.  If you’ve never seen his videos, it’s basically a smaller skinny guy beating huge muscle men with  Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.  Still I wouldn’t want to face either one of these guys in any ring or cage.  Luckily they’ll be on chairs behind tables.  Oh crap!  Matt wrestles in Table, Ladders, and Chairs matches!!!!!  Travis grab a ladder, LET’S GET IT ON!  COME ON!  DING DING DING!

After a slight adventure with Travis’ GPS, we finally arrive to Frank and Sons.  For anyone who loves old toys, you have to go there someday.  When we get there, we scope out the area and find the autograph section.  

Royce Gracie is already there, so we get in line to buy tickets.  I normally don’t like to pay for autographs, but this guy is a legend, and not very expensive.  When we get to the merch table, I was hoping to get a UFC glove signed, but they only had Tapout gloves which Royce Gracie is not a part of.  So I find a picture I like and we get in line.  Travis and I figure out who’s gonna take the picture when and how.  People don’t understand the importance of preparing for the photo-op.  Have you not seen my many photo fails!

Travis always takes the best pics so I give him my camera.  

We’re noticing there is already a line starting for Matt.  WOW!  When I get up to Royce Gracie I was shocked, you would never have thought this guy kicks people’s asses for a living.  

Royce Gracie is super nice, and has a very nice graph.  I thank him and get ready for the picture.  I did the “hold my fist up like I’m a fighter” pose, which came out great.  

Of course after I see someone do the pose-off picture, and think that would have been much cooler.  But I’m very happy with what I got.

Now it’s time to get in line for Matt.  I hold the spot while Travis buys his tickets.  I would say we’re about 20-30 in line.  It’s not too bad.  I guess Matt’s girlfriend is going to be here too.  She did some wrestling for MTV, and I actually remember her from being an obsessed New York Giants fan on MTV’s True Life, Reby Sky.  Now the waiting begins.  I would usually use my MONTAGE right now, but if you have ever been in line with wrestling fans, it’s one of the most interesting things in the world! 

You have the one uppers which you have in regular graphing too.  Those guys that have to one up you after you say you’ve met or got an autograph from someone.  This line was full of them.  But my favorite part is when they start arguing over who would beat whom (did I use whom right?  Never could figure that out in English class)  These are wrestlers!  It’s for entertainment!  I love watching it!  But you want me to tell you who’s going to win?  How bout whoever the script says is going to win.  Now I can understand kids having these arguments, but grown adults…..it just cracks me up.

Matt’s running a little late.  Oh, he’s here, but for some reason it’s taking him forever to come out.  There’s some guy that keeps coming out telling us 5 more minutes, every 5 minutes.  He wants us to chant his name.  REALLY?  Finally after 45 minutes of being late, he finally comes out.  I’m not really sure what to expect from this guy.  Sometimes wrestlers are cool and sometimes they look like they really don’t want to be there.  Then the guy yells 1-20 is up first.  WHAT?  You mean they’re going to go by ticket number?  We have 64 & 65.  UGH!  We waited in this stupid line for no reason!
MONTAGE!

The whole time I was in line, I was wondering if I should get Reby’s auto.  It was cheap, and she was looking hot…… Finally I decided to think with my head.  Oops, wrong head!  Now Travis and I had to figure out the photo op situation again.  She was first, and Matt was second.  When we got up there they both were really nice.  I picked out which picture I wanted signed “the football looking one”  “No, not the Giants one, I hate the Giants”  She laughed. 

I told her I remember watching her MTV episode, and laughed again.  I told her I would wait for the photo op while Travis was getting Matt’s autograph.  When we get to Matt, he was in good spirits, even though a kid had spit up on him during a photo op.  I don’t make this stuff up! 

Travis gets his book out and he signs away.  He always likes to get a picture of them with the book, and then a picture with the wrestler.  Matt was nice enough to make sure and ask how to spell Travis.  We joke at about another wrestler who spelled it Tavaris, or something like that.  They got a good laugh out of that story.  Travis then gets his picture,

and then I go behind to get my picture with Reby. 

Again, it’s good to have a good photo op guy, cause the guy who took this picture SUCKED!  It took 2 tries, and they both were bad.  I didn’t want to seem like a perv, so I finally gave up.

After we were done, we notice that one of the guys from Repo Man was there signing for free.  BONUS!!!

Well, time to get back home.  When I hang out with Travo,  it’s 2 Bud Lights, one with a lime.  We make our own Happy Hour!
