Box Office Breakdown! Captain America Hits #1! Noah #2! Divergent Crosses 100 Million!

Surprise, surprise; Captain America The Winter Soldier was number one at the box office. The real surprise was its $96.2 million intake. Boy was I close. So close, that I’m going to call it a win. Cap n ’crew have already made a worldwide gross of $303 million. Go Marvel!

Noah drifted to number to with an impressive $17 million for its second week in release. That bloated budget is going to hurt, but with all the controversy and multi-country banning, this film should stick around for at least 40 days and 40 nights.

Divergent dropped one spot to number three with $13 million. It’s no Hunger Games, but this franchise is alive and well and we’ll definitely enjoy this whole trilogy on the big screen.

God’s Not Dead climbed up a notch to number four with $7.7 million. This indie dark horse came out of nowhere and has scooped up a total domestic gross of $32 million so far.

The Grand Budapest Hotel also upgraded one spot coming in at number five with $6.3 million.

Muppets Most Wanted isn’t living up to its title, falling to number six after just 3 weeks I release. It ain’t easy being green. Or lack thereof in this case.

Mr. Peabody & Sherman scored another $5.3 million for a total domestic gross of $102 million. But, it’s still so far from its $145 million budget, I can’t call this one a win.

Sabotage fell to number eight with $1.9 million. Time to hang up the ol’ action hero hat Mr. Schwarzenegger.

Need for Speed needed some more tickets sales, coming in at number nine with $1.8 million. Maybe there’ll be a Breaking Bad movie to which Aaron Paul can go crawling back?

Non-Stop was just that, rounding out the top ten with another $1.8 million.
