Box Office Breakdown! Focus Sharpens It’s Way To Number One! Lazarus Effect Stayed Dead! And More!

While my prediction last week seemed a touch crazy, it wasn’t that far off. Focus conned its way to the top spot with $19.1 million.

The Lazarus Effect stayed dead, opening at number five with just $10.6 million.

McFarland USA got tripped up at number six with $7.79 million and a domestic gross of $21.9 million after two weeks.

American Sniper stayed deadly at number seven with $7.7 million and is on its way to being the number one movie of 2014 with a current domestic gross of $331.1 million.

The DUFF slipped to number eight its second week with $7.1 million, but its tiny budget of $8.5 million will help it save face.

Still Alice climbed up to number nine with $2.6 million thanks to Julianne Moore’s Oscar win.

Rounding out the top ten was Hot Tub Time Machine 2 with $2.4 million in its second week. This comedy is definitely all wet.
