Box Office Breakdown! Exceeding Expectations! Gone Girl #1! Annabelle #2! Left Behind Bombs!

It’s a squeaker! In a photo finish, Ben Affleck’s mystery thriller Gone Girl edges out the weekend win with $38 million.

Annabelle came in a very scary second place, conjuring up $37.2 million.

The Equalizer mellowed at number three with $19 million.

The Boxtrolls dropped a spot to number four whit $12.4 million.

The Maze Runner stumbled into fifth place with $12 million and a domestic total of $73.9 million.

The Nic Cage thriller Left Behind was just that – opening at number six with $6.8 million.

This is Where I Leave You was left in the number seven spot with $4 million.

Dolphin Tale 2 stayed afloat at number eight with $3.5 million.

After 10 weeks in release, Guardians of the Galaxy took the number nine spot with $3 million for a worldwide total of $654 million.

Rounding out the top ten was No Good Deed with $2.5 million, which fell significantly after such a strong opening three weeks ago.
