Box Office Breakdown! Top Gun Flies High! Doctor Strange Continues Its Spell! Downtown Abbey Stays Classy! And More!

The long awaited, long time completed Top Gun sequel, Maverick opened at number one with $125 million. Doctor Strange cast a spell and remained at number two and The Bob’s Burgers Movie had a modest opening at number three.  Downton Abbey: A New Era stayed classy at number four, while Sonic 2 got a boost up to number six. Two new, un-promoted indie flicks rounded out the top ten.
