I was at the Bridesmaids premiere and I got a ticket to see the movie. Bridesmaids is going to be released in two weeks, and I am writing a movie review. I know Mike criticizes my tastes of movies and actors, but I will be as neutral as possible. With the formalities out of the way, let’s get this started!

The story revolves around Annie, played by Kristin Wiig, dealing with the obstacles of planning her childhood friend’s upcoming marriage. Lillian is played by fellow SNL alumni Maya Rudolph. Kristin Wiig co-wrote and stars in the movie. The movie incorporates the different people that are involved with marriage planning. The main obstacle Annie needs to overcome is Lillian’s co-worker, Helen, played by Rose Byrne. The comedy is typical Judd Appatow-type, using a lot of sexual humor. Within the first two minutes of the movie, the bedroom sequence with Jon Hamm sets the tone of the movie. I found myself constantly laughing on how certain events unfolded. Melissa McCarthy, Wendy McLendon-Covey and Ellie Kemper play the others bridesmaids, and are the spectators to the Helen vs. Annie madness. Kristin delivers a phenomenal and believable performance of a woman losing her best friend, having her life unravel, and trying to find a relationship that isn’t strictly sex. I don’t want to say too much about the movie, but Melissa’s character begins to steal the movie with her character, Megan. It’s a well written movie from start to beginning. I really wanted to see this movie, and it exceeded my expectations. I would strongly recommend it for someone whose want to see a great comedy that doesn’t depend on sexual humor alone. With an all-star cast, this movie will not disappoint. After the movie, I met the whole cast and they signed my shirt. So even more reason for me to love the movie.

Until next time, same CB hour, same CB channel, same CB blog, KAPPPOOOOOW!
