I love the PCC!
And yes, I’m down with it. Never gets old!
Karalee is awesome and this week she is sharing some insights on feminism, phalic necklaces, and 90210… Not in that order.
Check out her Pop Culture Countdown after the jump!
Hola friends! Well, we’ve made it through another week. This week had some interesting pop culture headlines, everything from “Lohan parties till 7 a.m.!” to “Chris Brown may retire!” All that’s well and good, but they weren’t enough to warrant prime real estate in the PCC…here’s what did:
Respect me for my mind
Kate Upton wants men to stop objectifying her and treating her like a piece of meat. “I’m not a toy. I’m a human,” she said in a recent magazine interview. Um, news flash K. Up: You’re also a swimsuit model. By choice. Did you think that posing like this
would make men want to hear your thoughts on the uprising in Egypt? She goes on to say, “After my first Sports Illustrated cover, I felt terrible about myself for a solid month.” Yet, she somehow, some way mustered the strength to pose again a year later. Way to persevere and fight through the pain. Is it right to objectify women? Absolutely not. But when someone who poses more-than-half naked, makes out with patty melts for fast food restaurants and profits from it all starts complaining, it’s time to get a grip of something other than your ta-tas.
Christmas shopping: DONE!
The days of tirelessly searching for the perfect gold penis necklace are over.
Thank you, Ke$ha! The unsanitized songstress’ new jewelry line, Kesha Rose by Charles Albert (ooh, classy), is dang near sold out after just one week, with the phallic-themed pieces being the first to go. Cut to Miley Cyrus feverishly tracking her FedEx shipment.
Remember the time you were offered $3 million for four days of work? But you turned it down because you wanted $4 million? Totally reasonable, right? How’d that work out for you, Douche Willis?
Jason Priestley is writing a memoir and it will include new behind-the-scenes stories about his time on “Beverly Hills, 90210.” No word yet on whether Gabrielle Carteris will serve as editor.
Beyonce cut her hair this week, debuting a short new pixie ‘do. In other news, wind machine companies around the world filed for bankruptcy.
That’s all for this week…catch ya on the flip side!
