Carrie Fisher! RIP! Fanboy Family Devastated! Pinky Shares With Us.
The world lost a Princess today. First a Prince earlier this year and now Princess Leia. It’s so very sad – just yesterday I was texting with Mikey about how 2016 couldn’t take down Princess Leia. I’d said she had the love of the world sending her their force, so I was sure she’d pull through.
That hope was lost this morning when she passed away at 8:55 a.m. at the far-too-young age of 60. My favorite role of Carrie’s (aside from Star Wars, of course) was of Meg Ryan’s neurotic best friend, Marie, in When Harry Met Sally. Every time she said, “You’re right, you’re right, I know you’re right” it made me chuckle.
We had the privilege of meeting Carrie last year at a Star Wars convention. She was lovely and I’m so grateful for the memory. We heard rumors of her throwing glitter on anyone who came to her table and it made me smile. She was a light like no other and I know there are broken hearts all over the world today. Farewell, Princess Leia. May the Force be with you.
