Comic Con 2012 Report! Preview Night! Warner Bros! FOX! Lionsgate! The Walking Dead! KITT From Knight Rider! Total Recall Props! And More!
Ah, the madness of Comic Con! There’s really nothing like it! This year they moved the convention up by a week and let me tell you… I’m not prepared! Seriously, I’m not prepared! The crowds, the unwashed masses, the fighting for tickets… But again, I really enjoy coming to Comic Con so it’s always a mixed bag. It’s been 11 years for me now, and It’s just a whole new bag…
I need to adjust my expectations… But you know that’s okay…
Anyway, this trip I have a lot of friends coming which makes me happy! The Lovely Erica, Suddenly Susan, The Novel Strumpet, Billy Beer, The Other Mike, my friend Annette, and more… So, I’m excited!
The Novel Strumpet and I drove in together and after checking in to our hotel, the swanky Embassy Suites we headed over to get some food.
We picked the restaurant where they shot Top Gun down a couple blocks from the convention center. You can take the Fanboy out of LA but you can’t.. lol…
Clearly I was going for the health conscious option.
After checking in Strumpie and I joined the… Gulp… Line… Apparently people have been lining up since noon… NOON! For PREVIEW NIGHT! The night where it’s the move calm… Oh Lord… I’m not prepared!
So, now we wait… And wait… Just a few hours to get in… Yeah… The convention floor is open from 6 to 9 so it’s only a few hours of madness.
The escalator rush! People are darting everywhere, I always do a quick lap.
There was the Lionsgate Booth!
The Warner Bros Booth!
At Warner Bros they had the Bat scooter thing from The Dark Knight Rises. I think it’s Catwoman’s motorcycle. Pretty damn cool.
AMC had The Walking Dead booth where there was already a huge queue of people around to get their pic with zombies.
Marvel has the Iron Man display again…
Sony has an awesome display with the Total Recall car and some costumes from the film. Can’t wait for this one!
Warner’s has a huge Hobbit display with lenticular posters of the major characters on the back. Nice!
Then FOX decided to give out poster tubes. It was like a feeding frenzy. Like Piranha’s feeding off the dead and elderly. Man, I have never seen people go… No, I can’t say that… I have… I’m at the point where I would rather spend three bucks on a tube then go through all that. lol…
The Knight Rider car was also on display. That was pretty damn cool.
There was also a really neat Falling Skies booth as well.
Most of the booth’s were pretty standard fair, but it’s always good to get a lay of the land. See where everything is and prepare for the attack of the rest of the weekend.
So, let’s all cross our fingers for a great San Diego Comic Con 2012!

I feel absolutely hung over, and I don’t even drink! I enjoyed the madness so much and have a bit of the post Comic Con blues 🙁
The first thing I plan to do for next year is request Monday off of work! I’m dying over here…
Preview night is the best day to check out the floor and all the booth’s. Though still crowded it’s the less crowded day of the five.
Can’t wait for the writeups on the next four days.
Still recuperating myself.
I hear ya Susan, I took today off and I didn’t even go to the con on Sunday. I just slept in at the hotel and finally had a decent meal at the Macaroni Grill….mmmmmmmm bread….
