I like Mr. Shyamalan’s sense of the spooky.
I think it would have to be the general creepy atmosphere in his movies.
What I like about Shyamalan’s films is the general sense of unease and tension throughout most of them. In this case, you think you know what’s going to happen next but then you are completely thrown off guard.
My favorite thing about M. Night Shyamalan is that he always takes risk. One of the workers of Disney rejected “Lady in the Water”‘s script, yet M. Night still made that movie. M.Night actually bought the apartment “Lady in the Water” was filmed in rather than renting it out so he could have total control of his space. Not to mention M. Night shot “The Visit” twice- once as a horror movie and another as a comedy and then sandwiched them together. M. Night is FEARLESS- I love that 😀
My favorite thing about M. Night’s movies is that they are unpredictable. The ending of “The Sixth Sense” for example- who could’ve seen that coming? Another great example is the twist to “The Visit” and the reveal of the aliens’ allergy in “Signs” were unexpected. Even when M. Night misses the mark COMPLETELY (i.e. “Lady in the Water”), you still can’t say “WOW! I’ve seen that before”.
So yeah, I love M. Night and his movies 😀 (I even can appreciate “Lady in the Water”)

the big twist at the ends
The truth is that I haven’t admired many of his films since ‘The Sixth Sense’; though I keep hoping and I have heard great things about this film.
I like that he writes and directs his films, and I like his suspenseful stories.
Well I’ve liked 2 (Unbreakable and the Sixth Sense) because of the endings .
I love how creepy and unpredictable they are.

They really are scary. I loved “The Sixth Sense” a lot.
Even though most of his later movies leave a lot to be desired story wise, he’s always had a fantastic directorial style. Can really create the right mood like in Unbreakable or The Village

As far as the ones I have seen of his movies I have liked the creepy vibe that they have. Plus the stories themselves are always great.
