Throwback Thurs! My Favorite Premiere Ever! Dark Shadows! Johnny Depp! Michelle Pfeiffer! Eva Green! Tim Burton! Bella Heathcote! and More!

Scotty and I were just talking about our favorite movie premieres and we both said.. Our favorite of all time was Dark Shadows. Without a doubt, it was just one of the most awesome days.

I was able to get Michelle Pfeiffer, Johnny Depp, Eva Green, Tim Burton, Bella Heathcote, and more. It was just amazing. They don’t make them like this anymore!

Man oh man… Assemble the troops kids, Mike The Fanboy is going to war. I can only be talking about the Dark Shadows premiere. Any Johnny Depp premiere is going to be bad. I mean it just is… But this is a Johnny Depp and Tim Burton premiere, and then throw Michelle Pfeiffer in the mix… Oh… Man…

I knew it was going to be rough, but I didn’t expect battle scars… I was fortunate, that the Other Mike saved me a spot even though by the time I rolled in at 10:00 a.m. he had to fight with hundreds of people and move twice lol…

Here we go kids!

10:01 a.m. – I’m here, no barricades. Oh… This can only be bad. Apparently, what ended up happening is everyone thought the drop was on the other side, and then they moved everyone here. Whew…

10:15 a.m. – We are near the crosswalk, but not directly across… It could be good, or we could watch everyone cross and get nadda…

10:26 a.m. – Oh look, a naked homeless man is doing a striptease on the lamp pole… Ah, good times… Welcome to Hollywood kids!

10:38 a.m. – I just thought… Danny Elfman is going to be here… So, Bridget Fonda with show up… Dammit! I might have to go home and get my Point of No Return mini poster… hmmmmmm….

11:09 a.m. – I have so much crap, I’m not even going to bore you guys with what I brought. So much, but I really tried to curb myself and not overwhelm my bags. Then I just get confused and tend to flip and miss something. so… It’s not worth it to overpack sometimes…

11:32 a.m. – Okay, I’m heading out to grab the posters from home. Thankfully, I’m only like 15 minutes away.

12:41 p.m. – I’m back! The Other Mike is behind the barricade holding my spot and I just spied Scotty arriving. He made a sign for michelle Pfeiffer and is determined to finally get her signature today…

12:49 p.m. – The sun is really out!

1:08 p.m. – Oh there’s Anushika! Everyone’s out and about for this one! There’s Erica… Man oh man!

1:11 p.m. – I just spied Pinky as well… She has on Heart sunglasses, lol…

1:15 p.m. – Even the costumed characters are themed for the occasion. Willy Wonka is chatting with Catwoman…. Hmmm the meeting of Depp and Pfeiffer in another world perhaps…

1:31 p.m. – The sun has bleached my brain it’s official.

1:38 p.m. – CB is showing us the stuff in his bag. Apparently a water bottle exploded and he’s saving the wrecked posters for posterity. Ummmm Personally, I like to throw waterlogged memorabilia away, but that’s just me. Color me crazy!

1:54 p.m. – Man, Franky Goes To Hollywood is here too! After a brief chastising about not writing more we head to CVS to get something to drink. I’m a tad out of it, a full day of waiting is tough..

2:09 p.m. – I’m heading out with Anushika to do some exploring…

2:18 p.m. – It looks like they are going to close the crosswalk and extend the carpet there for drops. Hmmmm this could be good, or it could be bad..

2:34 p.m. – The carpet is pretty cool. Just the individual posters I blogged about before in giant frames. I like it though. It’s simple but effective!

2:49 p.m. – I’m back at the barricade… I’m trying to figure out if this is going to be bad for us… hmmmm…

3:09 p.m. – I ran into one of the MTF readers Janna or is it Jenna… God the sun has bleached my brain… Earlier today. She came from San Diego to try and get Johnny!

3:49 p.m. – Now Barnabas Collins and Willy Wonka are hanging out. lol… God bless them!

4:11 p.m. – Time is getting shorter! The carpet is supposed to start at 6:30 p.m. I’m honestly not worried about Johnny. He’s so nice to the fans that I know he’s going to do the whole barricade. It’s Michelle Pfeiffer I’m worried about…

4:32 p.m. – At New Year’s Eve she only signed like 20 autographs at maximum… I’m not sure how she’s going to be today. Although it seems like she’s being nicer about signing lately. I brought my Grease 2 mini poster for her. I know, I know… It’s one of those movies you either love or hate. But I love it. I also know Michelle doesn’t really love that movie, so I’m wondering if she will even sign it… Sigh… Ah well… I guess we shall see…

4:45 p.m. – DVD Dave is here and with him, the Other Mike and myself we make a nice wall. lol… That’s one nice thing about being a tall guy… lol…

5:21 p.m. – this is the moment when time stands still… Sigh…

5:45 p.m. – The crowd is about six people deep now… Ugh… It’s about to get crazy!

6:01 p.m. – I just realized I should take a pic of the Kodak Theatre… After all soon it will be the Dolby Theatre…

6:11 p.m. – Okay only 20 minutes!

6:15 p.m. – Wait… Is this a drop? Holy crap it’s Jackie Earle Haley! We are all yelling for him and it doesn’t look like he’s going to come over… Oh wait… Here he comes…

6:16 p.m. – Jackie isn’t signing that much it seems… He’s… Frakk… He’s going the wrong way… Dammit. We are all trying to get him to come this way…

It looks like he’s going to do it, but then he hands the pen back and runs across the street. Ugh… That blows!

6:18 p.m. – Here’s where Fanboy’s go wild. There is a dude with a half sheet (which is basically half of a one sheet) on a giant piece of cardboard behind me. He literally tried to throw this poster over my head for Jackie Earle Haley. And even though he didn’t come my way, that’s not cool. So, I turn around and I’m like, “If you think you’re going to throw that poster over my head, I’m going to rip it out of your hands and throw it in the street.” The guy started stuttering and I was like, “I’m just telling you now… I could give a shit, so you have warning.” That might be a paraphrase, but the gist is there… So the guy ended up leaving, lol… Who the hell does that man. Savages!

6:21 p.m. – Anyway, Sigh… Well… Not getting Jackie does not bode well… If you can’t get someone nice like Jackie Earle Haley it is not a good sign for the rest of the cast…

6:34 p.m. – Oh… Another drop… It’s Bella Heathcote! We are all yelling for her and she’s heading this way. She starts in the dreaded middle spot and then I hear security say, “No, go this way.”

DVD Dave helps me get Bella on my individual poster and then I get Bella Heathcote to sign my cast poster as well.

Sweet! Bella Heathcote is hyper nice!

6:41 p.m. – Another drop… There’s… Oh crap it’s Eva Green! She is heading right on over.

Thankfully security is directing people our way. I get Eva on my Dark Shadows cast poster and then Eva Green signs my individual mini poster as well.

She is very nice and I make sure and thank her when she comes by.

6:43 p.m. – Security came by and told us that Johnny is going to sign but after he does press and to pass the word along. I thought that was nice…

6:48 p.m. – and Here’s Johnny! he’s arriving and motions he will sign after. Dude, he’s so frakkin nice!

6:54 p.m. – And there she is… Ms. Michelle Pfeiffer! I can hear Scotty yelling and he starts waving his sign. Michelle comes right over to the middle… Dammit… Security is bringing her our way though… I’m holding out hope… I have my Dark Shadows mini poster out and my Grease 2 mini poster as well…

6:55 p.m. – Michelle comes by and signs the Dark Shadows poster and then… I’m in a wrestling match. People barge though the crowd throwing themselves over us, a young girl gets clobbered. I swear I’m fighting with a heard of wild animals.

I have my Grease 2 poster out and I ask Michelle to sign it. She sees it smiles and skips it, I’m like, “Wait, Ms. Pfeiffer, you don’t understand… I grew up with this movie, it’s part of my childhood. Seriously, I love it.” She looks at me in the eye, and I think because I was fighting off a horde of animals and talking about my love of Grease 2 she had pity on me and signed it.

lol… I swear though, Michelle looked like she was scared of the crazy horde of dealers… ugh…

6:58 p.m. – Sadly Scotty did not get Michelle… I’m bummed for him…

6:59 p.m. – Oh crap there’s Tim Burton! he’s running on over and signing up a storm.

I got him on my Dark Shadows mini poster and then I got him on Mars Attacks as well… Then I was like, Wait… I have Beetlejuice… I hold out my mini poster for him and Tim signs that as well.

Damn… Not too shabby if I do say so myself! Tim is being hyper nice and honestly signing up a storm for the fans.

Very cool! I love Tim Burton so much!

7:09 p.m. – Oh hell, the crowd has started freaking out… That only means Johnny Depp is coming! Sure enough there he is. Johnny starts at the very end and then makes his way. He’s moving slowly.. He makes sure and gets everyone in front and has no problem signing more than one for people.

7:17 p.m. – This is so funny, we are in a constant state of readiness and are just waiting for Johnny. lol… God love him…

7:25 p.m. – Okay here we go… Johnny is here… It takes so many security guards to keep the railing from tipping but still Johnny seems calm and just signs away. I tell him how excited I am for the movie, and get johnny to sign my Pirates mini poster, and my Dark Shadows cast poster as well.

Then I pull out my individual mini poster. Johnny reaches over and signs that too… Amazing!

Three Johnny Depp’s in a matter of seconds… It only took eight hours. lol…

7:33 p.m. – Chloe Grace Moretz arrived she said she would sign later… Ugh… So, I’m waiting for her…

7:45 p.m. – Johnny is more than half down the line now… I’m wondering if he is going to cross the street. I want to wait for Chloe and have a couple more things for him… hmmmmmm….

8:09 p.m. – Okay screw it… I’m heading across the street. The barricade is only half full. I see Frank and run over there.

8:11 p.m. – Johnny is still on the other side. His car is here and they are waiting for him. It looks like Johnny is going to sign for his side then jump in the car. lol…

8:15 p.m. – There he is! Johnny is signing on this side as well. I have a Vanity Fair and a Sweeny Todd mini poster for him.

8:22 p.m. – Johnny is at us now. I tried to get Johnny to switch pens but that didn’t happen as Johnny just signed it right off.

Damn…. Then Johnny signed the Vanity Fair magazine as well.

Wow, what a trial. I wish everyone could see what us Fanboy’s go through… Pictures do not do it justice. It’s just madness sometimes… The pushing for Michelle Pfeiffer was horrible. Literally I feel like I was in the middle of a wrestling match. At one point. I reared up and made sure no one in back could get to Michelle once I got my stuff signed because they were hurting people. I mean come on. That’s not cool.

Anyway, a wonderful day, I’m so glad that Michelle is signing more and I’m so happy that Tim Burton was so awesome to fans!

No Chloe, no Helena Bonham Carter, no Jonny Lee miller, no Christopher Lee, no Bridget Fonda, but a great day!

Now, I’m going to sleep! lol…
