Desperate Housewive’s Vanessa Williams signing autographs

I don’t know if there’s anyone out there who doesn’t know, but I am a huge Desperate Housewives fan. Even with last season being absent Ms. Nicolette Sheridan and rather… well I would say uninspired… I still love the show… Anyway, when new addition to the cast Ms. Vanessa Williams was going to be on a talk show I had to take the opportunity to head down and try to get her on my poster I’ve been working on for… oh… four years. I also had a couple promos from the current season as well… so… off we go!

4:51 p.m. – I can’t believe I’m so late… ugh… I also can’t believe I’m the only one here! Vanessa Williams just joined Desperate Housewives people! Hello!

4:54 p.m. – I should clarify there are two of us here…

5:01 p.m. – The sun is killing us… and… Okay the security put a barricade up… to protect everyone from the two of us here… lol…

5:06 p.m. – A large truck just pulled up and created all this shade… ahhhh shade… they are having the Secretariat Premiere on Hollywood Blvd. so a lot of people must be over there… which means if Vanessa doesn’t sign on the way in… then they will be here after… ugh…

5:16 p.m. – Thankfully, I have me LA Weekly to keep me company. I always worry that the news ink will come off on my hand and then it will get over everything, and I’ll have huge black smudges all over the face. Is this illogical? A tad paranoid? Perhaps…. Just perhaps…

5:29 p.m. – Security is toying with us and keeps opening up the door and closing the door. I think that they are bringing in some of the Disney executives to the Secretariat premiere… This is just hyperbole but it sounds moderately logical, and even with the sun bleaching my brain I’m going to assume it’s accurate!

5:41 p.m. – Still just the two of us… sigh… Ah well… sometimes It’s good then you can convince someone to come over fast and just sign a couple. I just don’t know if Ms. Vanessa Williams is a diva or not… she seems nice…. But so have some other people and they turned out to be jerks…sooooooooooooo…

5:47 p.m. – The audience is roped off like cattle on the other end of the ally way… lol… they look just a miserable as us over here…

5:51 p.m. – A couple other people have joined us now…

5:54 p.m. – The audience is going in now… no Vanessa Williams yet… sigh…. I’m afraid of rain! Grumble….

6:01 p.m. – usually women will arrive early to primp and stuff… You know girly stuff… there’s plucking, and tweezing and all kinds of things to do. Guys we just slap on some deodorant and off we go!

6:03 p.m. – Okay maybe guys primp an LITTLE… but really… I have seen some of my girlfriends go in to the bathroom only to emerge two hours later ready to go out looking exactly the same! It’s crazy!

6:11 p.m. – The weather in California has been super hot, muggy and just gross… and I’ve been super cranky which is a change from just my normal cranky. Lol…

6:14 p.m. – A guy just walked by with the tightest pants I have ever seen. Here’s a tip, if you have to buy girl’s jeans… dude, either eat, shop at a different store, or work out… but those super skinny jeans… not a good look!

6:15 p.m. – Still no Vanessa Williams… did I mention I love Desperate Housewives? Just though I would throw that in again…

6:19 p.m. – Oh my God… is it ugly pants day or something? An older man just walked by with a sport coat on and blue pants with a turtle print. They look like sleepy time pants… I just can’t take it… I need a laser pointer and the fashion police here now!

6:24 p.m. – My friend Melissa is walking down the ally… I didn’t know she was in town… too random!

6:29 p.m. – Oh my God… some people shouldn’t be shirtless… that’s all I’m saying… Just… no… Although I applaud the running… please… just please…

6:33 p.m. – The sky looks angry, and I think it’s going to rain… sigh…

6:44 p.m. – Melissa just got a small Secretariat horse beanie baby at the premiere… so cute! I want a small Secretariat horse beanie baby! Sadness….

6:54 p.m. – Wow, still no Vanessa Williams… Melissa left…

6:59 p.m. – Oh the door is opening up… there she is… She waves but says she is running late… sigh… Great… She did say she would sign on the way out… Ugh…

7:11 p.m. – its dark… like I mean it got dark in like 10 seconds… crazy times…

7:21 p.m. – I really hope Vanessa Williams spices up Desperate Housewives this season. I mean it’s the seventh season of Desperate Housewives and it needs a little new life…

7:32 p.m. – A guy just rode his bike down the ally and almost crashed into a fence… Careful dude… you know we’re all just going to point a laugh… and you don’t want that do you?

7:49 p.m. – The show’s starting… hopefully Vanessa Williams will be out soon!

7:58 p.m. – Oh the door is opening and it’s her! Yay! Everyone yells and she comes right over. She starts on our side and continues to walk down the line. I have my large poster out.

8:01 p.m. – Vanessa is looking at the poster and says, “But I’m not in this.” I tell her I’m trying to get everyone in the show and she really gives me a crappy signature… ah well… Then I pull out the other image and she personalizes it to Mike… She is very nice and really seems to take her time with the crowd.

8:06 p.m. – I’m going around the other side now to try and get my cast shot signed… There are about 15 people here now since the premiere let out…

8:08 – She signs my last one and her people pull her away. She does a couple more pictures before heading off. Such a class act! I mean she was so personable, and nice. I’m very impressed! And she looks H-O-T! HOT! Damn! Here’s to a great seventh season of Desperate Housewives with Ms. Vanessa Williams!
