Despicable Me 2 Movie Premiere Report! Billy Meets Steve Carell! Benjamin Bratt! Pharrell! Miranda Cosgrove! Caitlin Carmichael! Elsie Fisher! Autographs! Photos! And More!

Billy Beer headed out to the Despicable Me 2 premiere over the weekend and sent in his report from meeting the elusive Steve Carell! Steve is a tough one as Pinky’s recent Fanboy Fail can attest.

Welcome back to Billy Beer’s Bar Stool. Today we are off to the 
Despicable Me 2 Premiere. I’m hoping to get the elusive Steve Carell 
today. I switched my work schedule today to be able to try. It’s a 
quick review today. Don’t have enough time to make any Mike jokes. 
Like he would even notice. He’s probably busy trying to figure out 
which Channing Tatum picture he’s going to get signed next week.

(Editor’s Note: Ummm no… I already have my Channing Tatum drawer of stuff pulled… M-)



A couple of friends saved me a spot today, so I had a really close 
view of the carpet. Of course about 30 minutes before everything is 
about to start, they make a fan pit. They hand picked people and of 
course I wasn’t picked cause I had something to get signed. Oh well, I 
still think we are in a good spot. There are people with one-sheets 
next to me too, and that usually helps draw people over.


First person to come over was Caitlin Carmichael. Not sure who she is, 
but the people around me do. She signs a bunch of autographs and is 
super nice.


Next came both of the directors. We almost miss them, but someone 
calls them over. They were great with the fans even drawing pictures 
for some of them. We held them up for a bit, and they finally had to go.

Now for the big moment!! Steve is done with interviews and is on his 
way over to the fan section. I guess Steve is a morning guy, cause he 
was FULL of energy! He was signing and taking pictures with everyone. 
He finally made his way over to our section, and didn’t stop signing. 
I tried to get a picture too, but he was moving pretty fast.


One of the kid stars is next Elsie Fisher. This girl is a PRO! She was 
signing everything for everyone, and doing it fast. We thank her dad 
for bringing her over, and he says she loves to do it cause she loves 
her fans. Is she too young to tell her to NEVER change that attitude!


There’s Ken Jeong, and there he goes…..WOW!


Moises Arias flies past us too. Really Moises????? Really????

Dana Galer is next to see us. She wasn’t going to come over, but 
someone actually had her headshots which for some reason really 
impressed her. She came over to sign, and then quickly made her way 
down the line.



Then there’s a few walkers, Cloris Leachman and Christina Millian


Miranda Cosgrove is making her way down the line next. I’ve never 
gotten her before cause every time I see her I don’t have anything for 
her. She comes over and signs my poster.


Their starting to rush people now. There’s Kristen Wiig! There are a 
lot of people here to see her. She gives us that “Oh I’m so sorry, 
they’re rushing me in” act. And then she walks on by all her fans.

That’s funny, cause here comes Benjamin Bratt, and he is more than 
welcome to stop and sign and take pictures with people.

Pharrell is one of the last people on the carpet. He’s a little 
hesitant to come over, but does. He grabs someone pen signs a picture, 
then gives it back. Luckily I had my pen out. He grabs mine next and 
signs my poster and a couple of others then leaves. I was pretty happy 
about that, cause I love a lot of the music he produces.


Well, as I said, short review today, I gotta get to work. Till next
