Fanboy Fail Fridays! Pinky Meets Alyson Hannigan But Her Photo Is Nothing But A Black Screen! Doh!

Doh! I’m going to have a recap of this full event (when Scotty sends me the photos… Ahem) but needless to say, poor Pinky got her photo opp and then well… It was a fail. More than a photo fail, it was a black screen of death! DOH!

Hello, my lovelies. Pinky Lovejoy-Coogan here still recovering from my disastrous photo fail earlier this week. Now, this was an even worse photo fail than usual, because it wasn’t just a bad picture. It was NO picture. And for whatever reason, it felt a million times worse than if the celebrity hadn’t come over, skipped me, or just said no.

Despite the idiot security guards saying she was in a hurry and couldn’t take pictures (why say that when we’ve been waiting for hours? It’s just not fair), Alyson Hannigan was totally fine with taking pictures. She didn’t seem to mind it at all. And if she was in such a hurry, why didn’t they come earlier, or even leave earlier (because she was there longer than the usual guest)…but that’s a rant for a different day.

My heartbreak came when my stupid camera – the same one that’s been acting horrible lately – didn’t keep the picture.

Despite Alyson agreeing to it, and taking the picture with me, when I looked down at my screen, it was all black with the dreaded words, “File error.”

To say I was devastated was an understatement because I LOVE Alyson Hannigan and have been trying to meet her for years.

The last time she was on a talk show (about three years ago) was the dreaded “Horrible Hootie” day where Darius Rucker yelled at me.

(Editor’s Note: Darius Rucker told Pinky that he HAD a life and was really mean to her. M-)

Although I’d driven into town that day for the sole reason of meeting her, she had to cancel her appearance. I was heartbroken! We tweeted her that day and she wrote back and apologized for missing it and said she’d make it up to us. SO nice, right? The only other time I’ve seen her was at the American Pie Wedding premiere, but I got skipped (despite my awesome sign). Oh, well. At least I tried.

But, this time felt hopeful. This time seemed like the perfect time to finally finish getting pictures with the cast from How I Met Your Mother. Alyson was my one remaining person to get and, sadly, it didn’t happen. Actually, more accurately, it did happen, but got erased by my faulty camera.

And while I know in my head it’s just a picture, it felt like the worst thing in the entire universe at the time. I don’t know why. I know logically it’s not going to change my life in any way whatsoever – whether I get the picture or not – but at the time it felt like the worst thing ever. Of course, I had other things on my mind and it had been a bad day, so maybe that was just the straw that broke the camel’s back. All I know is that this photo fail was a terrible end to a no-good-rotten-day and sometimes things just go wrong.

Thankfully someone shot some video, so I do have some pictures that kind of show me and Alyson in the same shot….

but, it’s not going to make up for my lost photo opp. Sigh. Hopefully someday I’ll meet her again….in the meantime, I’ll just be over here scolding myself for not testing my camera more (I’ve since ordered another one – yay!).
