Fanboy Fail Friday – Drew Struzan Edition

I literally just walked in the door from an outing. I knew that almost every collector would be chasing the Star Wars cast this afternoon/evening, so I wanted to go to an event to meet movie poster artist, Drew Struzan. I got to the venue about an hour and half before show time. After about 20 minutes, Drew and his family arrived, and finished drinking their sodas from a fast food restaurant. They all talked and I waited patiently. Once there was a lul in the conversation, I asked, “Mr. Struzan would you mind signing my poster?” He looked at me and smiled (like the picture below).

He said, “As you can I see I am really busy.” He continued to smile, and I was confused if he was being serious or not. NOTHING was going on. There were not any further words exchanged and I stepped away. I was so perplexed that I was denied by a movie poster artist. I mean, I know he has created some amazing posters, but come on. I was the only person asking. I wanted him to sign my “Adventures in Babysitting,” not a “Star Wars” poster. Oh well, Happy Fanboy Fail Friday!
