Welcome back to Billy Beer’s Barstool. I’m still recovering from the
late night I had at the Hangover 3 Premiere, but today is the Fast &
Furious 6 Premiere. What’s a Fanboy to do? From the start this
Premiere had question marks all over it. Was it accessible? Who’s
going to be there? Just to name a few. I’ve only done one other
Premiere here, and it went well. So I decided to go and test it out.
I get there when everything opens up, and there’s a huge set up
already up. Well that answers my first question if it was accessible.
There’s going to be a concert after the red carpet, so they have a
whole fan area built in the middle. The carpet is huge, but not sure
if or where they are going to let anyone stand. I ask the security
guards what the plans were, and they told me they will be giving out
wrist bands to the fans for the pit at 2pm in the parking structure.
So I head down there to wait, only to get kicked out and told it might
not be there and they will announce at 2 where to go. This was
probably the stupidest thing they did the whole night. It’s just
asking for a million people to be running around, instead of waiting
nicely in line. At 1:55 they were seriously telling people to come
back. We played a game in the elevator where we just kept going up and
down until it was 2:00. It was CRAZY!!! People were running all over
to get in line. After a fight broke out, we finally ended up getting a
wristband.
Now they are telling us that we have to come back at 4:00 to line up,
and we can’t line up before that. I guess they don’t learn from their
mistakes. We play the same elevator and get in there exactly at 4:00.
We’re about 30th in line. This time security has a much better handle
on things. They just weren’t put in a good situation the first time.
These people were crazy! We were thinking the bleachers would be a
good place to be stand, but they told us that those were saved for
other people. So we decided to go to the back of the concert pit which
was right behind the red carpet, and stand at a gap between
photographers and press. Best decision EVER!
So you know, I just condensed 6 hours of craziness/second guessing/
annoyingness into 2 paragraphs, cause you probably really just want to
see the carpet stuff. But it was a trip to say the least!
Time for this thing to begin. It starts off with a DJ playing music
and them having dancers doing their thing on stage. This is similar to
the London Premiere, except are dancers are way better! Now it’s time
for arrivals.
Gina Carano is the first cast member to arrive. She is by herself, no
Superman boyfriend with her. She a former MMA Women’s Champion who has
crossed over to film. She’s looking amazing. There are a few people
with posters before us, and they are getting them signed, so this is a
good sign. We call for her and she comes right over. I basically have
two 12 x 18 mini posters for everyone to sign. Although for her, I
also have a 8 x10. She signs one of my posters, and my picture. I then
ask for a pic, and she gladly takes it. Good start!
Elsa Pataky is next to come over. No Thor husband, I guess the girls
are flying solo tonight. She too looks great! She signed forever at
the London Premiere, so I was hoping she would be just as nice here,
which she was. She signed both of my posters, and took a picture.
Next on the carpet was Wiz Khalifa. This brings the crowd to a new
craziness. People are pushing and shoving to try and see him.
Seriously people, he’s going to be performing soon. You’ll see him
then. Amber Rose is there too. She is stunning! I don’t really have
anything for him to sign.
Following Wiz was Gal Gadot. DANG!!!! These girls are all looking
amazing today! She comes over and signs my posters, but when I ask for
the pic, she starts getting rushed over to the press. DUH!
Her and Gina have a few moments together.
Sung Kang is next to arrive. He cut his hair, so it took a minute to
spot him. He was super nice, signed both of my pictures, took a
picture, and then just kinda hung out in front of us for a while.
Here comes Luke Evans. Now last time I got Luke, he wondered why I had
an Immortals poster for him to sign when that wasn’t the movie he was
promoting. So this time, only Fast 6 posters, no Hobbit pictures. He
was going through the line fast, and was only able to do one of my
posters. But I did get the photo-op.
Now one of the funnier moments, 2 Chains came walking past. Now I
didn’t have anything for him to sign, but I asked for a picture. He
then posed for me.
Um, I mean a picture with you. He posed for me again.
Then asked his 9 body guards if he should take a picture with me, then
he just walked on by.
Next, back from the dead, it’s Michelle Rodriguez. She is being super
cool with fans. I love it when a celeb ignores their publicist every
now and then and takes care of their fans. She was doing just that. I
got both posters done, and a funny photo-op.
Oh Boy, here come Tyrese. He’s actually signing! There are a few too
many stories of him turning down people for autographs. I think he
thinks everyone is trying to make a dime off of him. When he gets to
us, he signs everything we have. Even tries to sign my poster twice.
But couldn’t do it without making a comment about “You’re probably
going to make money off of this on ebay”. Tyrese, you can come over to
my house anytime and look at my collection. It’s overtaking my room.
Here comes Ludacris……There goes Ludacris. First person to deny us.
He said he has to go to the concert.
Things are going great, but the next person made my night. You all
know how I love my models. Next thing I know, there’s a blonde with
bangs standing right in front of me on the carpet. HOLY CRAP!
“Genevieve?” I say, and she looks right at me. It’s Genevieve Morton
the SI Swimsuit Model. Only one of my favorite models PERIOD! I geeked
out. I asked for a picture which she did, and then scramble for a
blank for her to sign. I told her I follow her on Twitter and that her
tweets are hilarious. She actually smiled when I told her that.
Aghhhhhhhh. OK, back to the recap.
Did I mention I just met Genevieve Morton?
Luke Evans was done with his press, and came back through to walk to
the afterparty. I was able to get him on my other poster.
The Director Justin Lin then comes over. I guess he’s not around a
lot, so I get him on both of my poster. I got a nice picture of his
back.

Now we hear a big roar. Vin is here! The crowd is going crazy. He’s
signing for a bunch of people before us, but it’s taking him a while.
When he finally gets to us, he’s being rushed. He does get to both of
my posters, and actually looks to sign them in good spots. As soon as
he signs my second poster, he bolts into the afterparty. No press at
all for him.
That was it for the cast. No Rock, No Paul, No Jordana. Kinda
surprising, but I don’t think I have anything to complain about.
Now it was time for the concert. Wiz, 2-Chains, and Luda all sang some
of their biggest hits.
While that was going on, I was able to get a few walkers too.
Gilbert Arenas, Matt Barnes, and Tara Reid.
Well, my body is a mess after getting crashed for 2 hours, I need a
drink! It’s Happy Hour somewhere!
Well done – sounds pretty crazy, and a little violent! Nice photos!
