Renewals And Cancellations! FX Gives A Second Season Order To New Drama Tyrant! As Well As The Strain!
The FX series Tyrant has been given the go ahead for a second season!
The drama series about the middle east turmoil will return for a 13 episode second season after premiering in June to 2.1 million viewers.
Tyrant is executive produced by Howard Gordon and stars Adam Rayner as the son of a middle east dictator practicing medicine and living in the United States. Once he returns home for a wedding he gets drawn into a political crisis.
The Wrap reported the renewal earlier today.
Nick Grad, the president of original programming for FX said, “We’re so proud of ‘Tyrant’s’ performance throughout its first season,” Grad continues, “Howard Gordon is one of the best and most successful producers in this business. His ability to combine intelligent, edge-of-your-seat storytelling with events from the current geopolitical climate is truly groundbreaking. We look forward to seeing how ‘Tyrant’ grows in season two.”
That other FX series, the amazing The Strain was also given a second season as reported in MTF’s TV Heartbeat earlier.
