Heading To The Hollywood Show! Meeting Martin Landau And “V” Star Richard Herd! Autographs! Photos! And A Day With The MTF Crew!
This weekend was The hollywood Show, while the big guest was William Shatner he was only appearing on Sunday. While I love Star Trek, I’m not paying $80 for Captain Kirk.
I did however want a few people at the show. So Suddenly Susan, Ace and I headed down. After sitting in traffic for an hour and a half we made it to the show.
Suddenly Susan wanted a few photo ops and Ace was along for the ride.
By the time we got there it wasn’t very crowded and we did a lap around. Spotting none other than Mr. Keith Coogan along the way modeling the “Dishes are Done, Man” limited edition dishes available at his booth.
Then I headed over to get Martin Landau on my “Ed Wood” poster. Martin is a screen legend and one heck of a nice guy. He even added Bela to my poster which I thought was nice of him.
Such a screen legend!
Susan really wanted a photo with soap opera star Tristan Rogers. So we went over there next.
After that, I spotted some rare cels from the Paula Abdul video Opposites Attract. I was telling Susan all about how they made the video, because clearly I’m an expert now, and while the guy behind the table didn’t know the price on the cels or any information, I thought they were cool.
I would have totally got one, but since the guy didn’t have a price, it was rather difficult.
Billy ended up showing up as well since he wanted a photo with My Two Dads star Staci Keanan. He got that along with Meredith Salenger.
I have to tell you, the prices at these things have really gotten out of hand. While I thought Martin Landau wasn’t bad, I ended up paying $30 for the poster to be signed, some of the other prices were really out of this world.
It should not cost $20 for a photo with someone at their table with your camera.
I did however get a chance to talk with “V” and “TJ Hooker” star Richard Herd. He was so nice and loved the mini poster I had.
We ended up talking for a bit actually and his price included a photo with, which I thought was really nice. We talked about Detroit, and a bunch of things. He was really cool to talk to.
I also ran into a bunch of MTF Readers which was great. Special shout out’s to Stephanie, Greg, and everyone else who was there! It’s always awesome to meet people.
I was also going to get Robert Picardo, but he wasn’t there. I heard a lot of people just either didn’t show or were only doing one day. That wasn’t really mentioned that people were only doing one day, which was disappointing to a lot of people. Especially if people had a longer drive or flew in.
Before we left, I couldn’t help running by Keith’s table and doing a few photos with the MTF Crew who were there.
It’s always fun when we can all hang out in a somewhat low stress environment.
On the way out, we spotted Billy Beer randomly walking the parking structure. Apparently, he couldn’t find his car. It was like a Seinfeld episode come to life!
Of course Ace had to get some pictures of Billy walking around. He could have helped Billy… But instead why not take pics to tease him. #Fanboy
I had a great time hanging out with the guys, I just wish the prices haven’t gotten so out of control!
Until next time kids…

I love the pics, but the prices at that convention are just silly. What happened to $20 for an autograph and photo? That’s not bad. but when you’re dropping $40 or more, I don’t even bother. It doesn’t encourage me to go or get more. It has to be someone I really want.
I wish they had some good names. Cons at other places get decent people. Here we get the Gorn from Star Trek.
The “V” poster! Fuckin’ awesome! I used to watch it when I was a kid. I need to see it again!
Keith Coogan has aged remarkably well. Always been a fan of his. Who remember’s Cheetah?
Why do people charge so much! Yesh!
It was my first trip to CA and my second HollyWood Show.
The highlight was getting to meet Keith And Pinky Coogan! -You guys rock!
