Man, there are some events that you kick yourself for missing. Now, it’s not for Hugh Jackman necessarily even though he’s getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame but it’s for Catwoman… AKA Anne Hathaway. That woman plagues me! Grumble!
It also would have been nice to see Hugh Jackman get the Walk of Fame treatment. I like him a lot and know he’s a really nice guy.
Billy Beer did attend the event and got a lot of success!
Check out his full report after the jump!
Welcome back to Billy Beer’s Bar Stool. Today, the bar is FULL of superheros! We have Wolverine, Catwoman, a guy that looks like The Tick, and Linda Lovelace! Trust me Linda had “super human powers”! Anyway they’re honoring Wolverine with his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I guess when you save the world a couple of times, that’s what you get.
Well, since someone decided to get to the This is 40 premiere way too early the other day, it was my turn to get to an event early. Today Hugh Jackman was getting his star, and there’s a rumor that Co-Stars Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried are going to be there too.
When I get there, It’s just 2 guys holding X-Men dvd’s and “The Other Mike”. And since Mike the Fanboy did not attend this event, I will just call him Mike for short. Mike and I sit around and talk for a while. A few of the regular faces start to show up. They still haven’t set anything up, so it’s still peaceful. Then they bring out the barricades, let the fun begin. People start cutting in front of each other.
Finally Mike announces that he was here before everyone else, and they better not step in front of him. This actually works. When we finally get to the barricade, we have what looks like a really good spot, until they decide to put the guests on the other side. UGH!
They did set up chairs in front of us that was for the family. I’m still feeling good about this. The first to arrive is actually Hugh, and he doesn’t disappoint. After talking to a few people, he starts at the first section and signs away.
I’m not really worried, cause it looks likes he’s going to each section. Next to arrive is Anne. She’s looking good, and has this Twiggy thing going on. I’ve heard she hasn’t been too nice lately, but she too grabbed a pen and started signing. She wasn’t really signing a lot per section, but she was signing.
Hugh finally makes his way over to our section. The first thing I pull out is my Les Mis poster. He signs it……with the deadest pen you’ve ever seen.
Still I pull out my next picture, and he signs it too. I don’t really try for my 3rd, he’s made his way down, and I want to focus my attention on Anne.
I’ve liked her for a while. I know I say that a lot, but ever since Havoc, I’ve been a fan. Although I can’t defend her Oscar hosting ability. Anne looks like she’s done signing, she starts talking to the family.
I hold up my classy picture of her, which it looks likes she notices. Then she makes her way over and goes straight for my picture.
I try and get my poster signed, but if she saw you, she was only doing one. It’s OK, I was very happy and thanked her.
Now where is Amanda? Yup, another one of my favorites! There she is! I think she snuck in while Anne and Hugh were signing. She was right in front of the family. I call over to her and ask if she could sign. About 30 seconds later she walks over and I give her my pen. She’s signs my picture, and then continues signing.
I asked for a picture, but we both realized it was way too crowded with pictures to be able to get one off. She then signed my poster and then gave me back my pen. Now that everyone was seated the ceremony began.
Jay Leno was the guest speaker. He told a few stories of when Hugh was first starting out. It was short and sweet.
Finally it was Hugh’s turn to talk. He was one of the more enjoyable person I’ve seen get their star.
He thanked everyone he could, and a cute moment was when he was thanking his family, his little girl was taking pictures of him.
When he was done talking, it was time to take pictures. They had just him, his family, and his co-stars.
Anne was the first to leave. She looked like she was done signing, and she was. Amanda was next to leave. She was nice enough to go back to the crowd and sign a few more. Finally after all the interviews, we’re hoping Hugh will come back over, but no such luck. I can’t really complain today. I finally met and got Anne and Hugh, and continued my good luck and love for Amanda. Well, it’s still early, so we might not have Happy Hour, but there’s always Lunch Specials!!!
