It’s The Luck Of The Irish! Meeting J.J. Abrams! Carrie Fisher! Alexander Ludwig! Beverly D’Angelo! And More!

I feel like I’m an honorary Irishman. I just feel it, people have actually told me that, I don’t really understand why, but I’m going to take it.

So, when I heard about the Irish awards, I knew I had to go.

The list really had J.J. Abrams, and Elizabeth Shue… Two people I really wanted, along with Carrie Fisher. I know Carrie is really tough, unless you’re dishing out $70 bucks at a convention.

When I arrived with Scotty there were already a bunch of people here.

Stephen Fry arrived and was super nice. I wish I knew he was going to be there, as I had a Gosford Park poster at home. Doh!

Then, and this killed me… Vikings star Alexander Ludwig showed up! Dammit, I have so much for Alexander at home. Sigh… I did get a horrible photo with Alexander that will not see the light of day.

Carrie Fisher arrived and jumped right on the carpet.

J.J. Abrams arrived and jumped on the carpet because he was in a hurry.

Stephen Colbert was here as well, but I missed him because I was getting a photo with Vacation star Beverly D’Angelo. I heart her. Vacation is one of my favorite movies, and if I knew she was going to be here, I would have have European Vacation, a counter standee, and a ton of crap! Grumble.

Finally, J.J. Abrams was done with the carpet and was cool enough to come over. Everyone lined up and he was awesome as usual.

J.J. Abrams, is such a cool guy… I mean… over and above. Seriously, I only have my Alias box set and my Lost box set. He was nice enough to do both and switch to silver for me. I told him how much I love Alias and he was like, “Oh my gosh, thanks so much, we really tried.” Such a humble and cool guy.

Once the arrivals were over, we decided to hang out for a bit for exits. Scotty really wanted Carrie Fisher and while I had no hope, I was like, I’ll wait too, hoping Elizabeth Shue would show.

Sadly, we waited a long time and she never showed. Gah!

While we waited, Scotty needed to move his car and he left for a second. Right, and I mean a minute after he left, so did Carrie Fisher.

WE convinced her to sign and she was like, “Oh… One each.”

Carrie Fisher signed my Star Wars mini poster and one each. Sadly, Scotty was gone and missed her. Doh!

Everyone felt really bad… And that was pretty much it for the night.

It was a long long night, but you know, it was fun. I need to go drink a green beer now!
