I was just thinking of all the fun q and a panels I’ve been to and how fortunate I’ve been to experience some of these awesome events.
One in particular was a blast and that was the Jessica Jones q and a.
Check out the recap below!
Jessica Jones and me, staring at the beautiful women… You know it’s…
Oh wait… That’s Mr. Jones. Doh!
Well, the other Jones, Ms. Jessica Jones is one of the newest series on Netflix and let me tell you I love it! Such an amazing series!
I was treated to an amazing q and a with the cast including Melissa Rosenberg, Krysten Ritter, Carrie-Anne Moss, Mike Colter and Rachael Taylor.
It was a pretty awesome night I have to tell you.
The cast talked about the show in such high regard and David Tennant joined in via satellite!
“I was given two scenes from the pilot one with Luke Cage and one with Trish. There were all these seeds planted for backstory, there were all these hints as to what was going on.” Krysten Ritter said, “Even in those 5 pages I had so much work to do. I knew right from the beginning that this was going to be fantastic.”
“Honestly, I walked in and I think I had gone in before and saw the sides and called my representation and said I think this is that Marvel thing. I think it went really well.” Mike Colter said, “I looked at the sides and I just enjoyed that it wasn’t spelled out. People really believe in this project.”
“I had the same audition scene and it was a ‘cracker’ scene. Just out of the gate I relished the depth and complexity between these two women on the page. I’ve done a ton of pilots and this was the first one that just jumped off the page with the understanding of female friendship and betrayal.” Rachael Taylor mentioned, “It’s still a super fun entertaining show with all these deeper layers underneath.”
“They talked about the superhero element as a backdrop, this was always meant to be a dark gritty psychological story.” Kristen exclaimed, “This was everything I always dreamed to do. From walking around looking cool to doing a cool action sequences and funny jokes on top of it. I’m so fortunate.”
The entire panel really enjoyed being there and talking about the series and it really is something special.
“I had a meeting with Jeph Loeb and he called me at home and I read the script and was blown away. It was the best pilot I ever read and again I loved the complexity of the story.” Carrie Anne-Moss said, “When Krysten Ritter came out in her costume, I internally gasped. She so embodied the character. It’s been so fun. It always is for me the writing.”
“My experience was different, I got two scripts but of course I don’t really turn up until episode four, so I went away and looked at the source material which is such a fantastic comic book and a different feel than Captain America, it’s a gritty dark world.” Laughed David Tennant. “You just read the script and writing is not normally this good. It was a gamble worth taking.”
After the panel the cast were so freakin’ nice.
All of them stayed and hung out with people. I had so much stuff for Carrie Anne-Moss. It was a bit obscene. Thanks to Wayne and co for helping me out, I really appreciated it. I got a request for a full paragraph thanks lol, and to be honest, I’ve never met Carrie Anne-Moss so I was really nervous. It was Trinity! Live! In person! Swoon. She did sign my Matrix poster a touch over Keanu Reeves, but it looks fine.
I was also able to get a couple photos with her which was stellar! Sigh… I didn’t like the first one so I had to get a second.
Mike Colter was equally awesome, I talked to him about the Luke Cage series and how I was really excited for it. He is too trust me!
Rachael Taylor is adorable, he accent is great and she’s so pretty.
And finally Krysten Ritter is one of the coolest people out there. She signed my Veronica Mars posters and was really awesome.
Such a fun night!
Thanks again to Wayne for helping me out!
Until next time kids…
