Kate Winslet Walk Of Fame Star Ceremony! With Kathy Bates! Autographs! Photos! Madness!

Kate Winslet is one of my favorites. I’ve always enjoyed her work and the projects she picks. She could have just picked popular roles but instead she takes on challenging projects like The Reader.

Today, Kate Winslet is getting her star on the Walk of Fame and… it’s going to be a crazy afternoon. I haven’t gone to a big star ceremony in a long long time, so what to do… What to do… I have to go of course!

The Other Mike and I headed down and got our place in line. Let me tell you… Nuts… It’s a word, it’s appropriate and I was shocked. No one knew what to do, where to line up, and the guys setting up the event asked us to do one thing and no one would listen. Oh, it was just silly for like an hour and a half, running back and forth, etc.. Then we all got lined up and it was just a lot. LOL…

Finally we all got in our places and prepared for another crush.

It was around 10:34 a.m. so we don’t have a lot of time to wait.

About a half hour later arrivals started and it’s Kathy Bates. I have to tell you, I’ve loved Kathy Bates, I only brought one thing for her, you just never know if the speakers or special guests are going to sign and I don’t like being weighed down at large events.

Can I just tell you how classy Kathy Bates is? She signs and signs for everyone down the entire line. Super sweet. I had her sign my misery poster and it looks amazing! It was so nice of Kathy Bates to sign for all the waiting fans.

Finally, Kate Winslet arrives and she looks amazing! The ceremony is about to start and some of the kids from Divergent are here as well.

The first speaker was Kathy Bates and she was adorable. her speech consisted of small props and some things for Kate Winslet to use to keep her star clean.

There was an apron,

a pan and brush, and a beard hat and T-shirt.

It was very cute.

Next up was Divergent star Shailene Woodley. She gave an impromptu speech, I believe James Cameron was supposed to be here but I guess he cancelled. Shailene Woodley gave a very heartfelt speech and even got emotional. So adorable.

After the speech everyone took photos at the star.

And now… It was go time. Kate Winslet is coming over and signs Mike’s photo and then goes down the other way! Nooo… I have my Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind mini poster and I keep waving it. As Kate Winslet nears the end of the barricade, she looks over and sees my poster. She comes all the way back and signs it for me. She signs a few more and I have my V magazine for her as well. Kate Winslet signs that for me as well.

It’s madness. People are pushing, shoving and it’s really kind of crazy. I’m very lucky to get a couple things signed because I know a lot of people didn’t get anything.

Whew… I need a drink and a nap.
