Katy Perry! The Other Mike Says La La La-La La La After Meeting Smurfette Herself! Autographs! Photos! Teenage Dreams! And More!

OMG! For the first time ever The Other Mike has written in to Mike The Fanboy? What is happening?!? I need to take a breath! I need a drink! I.. I… Need a moment! LOL…

I got word that Katy Perry was making a rare talk show appearance.  I am a fan of Katy’s music, however I am an even bigger fan of Smurfette.  I figured what the heck, why not try my luck and see if she will sign. 

2:15PM  I arrive at the venue and there are about 60 fans outside the studio.  Not only are there 60 fans, it’s about 50 teenage girls.  Things never go well when teenage girls are involved, so I’m a bit scared. 

3:10PM  I see Katy’s car coming down the road and I prepare my Smurfette photo, hoping that she will stop.  Not only did she not stop the car kept going and it pulled into the back lot entrance away from all the fans.  Uh Oh!!!  this is not a good sign of what is to come. 

3:20PM  A studio security officer heads over to us and say’s that he called into the studio and Katy wants to sign when she is finished.  Wow nothing better then getting news that your long wait will not be for nothing. 

3:30PM  Katy’s manager is observed driving into the studio and the rabid teenage fan base starts screaming and chasing the car.  Oh crap, this is what I was afraid of.  If these girls act like this for the manager what is going to happen when Katy comes out. 

3:45PM  Security comes out and lines us up 1 by 1 behind a railing in anticipation of Katy coming out.  Why oh why do I always get stuck to some one undesirable..  My penance for today is standing next to a group of girls from Brazil with legs and armpits that look like a rainforest and are screaming for some Lady Speed Stick… Nasty….

4:10PM  The audience is letting out and security is doing an excellent job of not letting them stand ahead of us for autographs. 

4:20PM  Katy’s bodyguard comes out and talks to studio security. 

4:21PM  Studio security comes over and lets us know that Katy is taping interviews and it will be another 2 hours if we want to wait.  Well I guess everyone wanted to wait, because not one person left. 

5:45PM  The moment we all been waiting for arrives.  Katy’s car is coming out and it’s stopping at the beginning of the line.  Wooohooo…  Katy gets out of the car and says you can either have a photograph or a autograph. 

I’m taking the autograph, I gotta get Smurfette’s autograph.  It’s my turn and I tell Katy that I really like her music, but I’m a huge fan of Smurfette. 

She smiles and says  “Thank you”.  I ask her if she would mind signing Smurfette on my photo and she happily accommodates my request. 

6:10PM  Katy is done with the line and gets back in her car to leave.  Wow a superstar like Katy Perry just spent 25 minutes with her fans.  What a class act.
