Kristin Chenoweth! Dallas Meets The Wicked Singer After Her Charlotte Concert! Autographs! And More!

Kristin Chenoweth is amazing! I heart her!

Dallas did this great recap after he met her this year. It’s been a long times since we heard from Dallas, and I just got two recaps from him! Say wha?

Dallas had an awesome time meeting Kristin Chenoweth and she was so adorable, signing for over 100 people! Talk about sweet!

Check out his recap below!

Dallas from South Carolina here again…but this time I’m doing a little road tripping…which is what has to happen 99.9% of the time when I want to see a celebrity in concert that has more than 1 or 2 hit songs lol. We have some awesome people come here sometimes, but if you want someone really big, odds are you have to travel to Charlotte or Raleigh, North Carolina. So, it’s my birthday (well….two months ago…pretending I wrote this report on time for Mike 😛 ) and all I want is to see my favorite Broadway star live…I’m a huge Wicked fan (and I drove to Raleigh to see Idina last year, and I really just wanted nothing more than hearing Kristin Chenoweth sing the Wicked songs live, her incredible original music, and so many classics.

I got the tickets for my birthday, we did the 4 hr roadtrip, and it’s show time!

She opens with her song Shall I Be Sweet, she moves onto Maybe this Time from Cabaret (that she covered on Glee), she tells some hilarious stories about her day so far in North Carolina, she’s sipping from a Bojangles cup, and she dabs several times during the show (this was right before the Carolina Panthers played the SuperBowl and dabbing was so popular lol)…she covers Dolly Parton, she invites a young girl from the audience she had never met before to sing Idina’s part from the song “For Good”, and really is just an absolutely lovely person. It was really difficult to get a good picture of her during the show, we were supposed to keep our phones off, I took one when the house lights came up for her to pick someone out of the audience…but it’s blurry :/

I walked away an ever bigger fan than when I got there, and I didn’t think that was possible.

Her 95 minute set ends, and the crowd piles out, seeing as how her fans are all Broadway lovers, most of them know about the art of the stage door, there are so many true genuine fans with playbills, posters, Wicked books, wanting to get signed crowding around the stage door.

We wait for maybe 40 minutes, it’s January, it’s windy and cold, but we’re waiting….finally a rep comes outside and says to get in a single file line, there’s easily 100 people in a big blob around the door, an unorganized mess, and if we get in a straight line she’ll come out and sign for every single person, but no posed pictures.

We’re all good with that of course, there’s so many people there I didn’t expect to get a picture, but out she comes, (she’s only 4 ft 11), so short and sweet, she takes her time with each person, listening to them say whatever they want to her, and signing whatever they have.

I told her it’s my birthday and all I wanted was to come see her and her face just lights up and she says Aw happy birthday baby, and she signs my playbill from her Broadway show On the 20th Century, and my copy of her book “A Little Bit Wicked”

True to her word, she does that entire line, I couldn’t have been any more impressed, and the line continued to grow the longer she was out there. I say she signed for at least 150-200 people that night.

She really made her Charlotte fans happy, and whenever she’s in the area again I will go see her, because she puts on one heck of a show.
