If you love cosplay, unique vendors, collectibles, celebrities and panels, then the Los Angeles Comic Con is the place to be! LACC is more cost effective and easy to navigate over the massive San Diego International Comic Con. It’s definitely worth a day or weekend trip. Here’s a bit of what we saw this year.

I was lucky enough to get a good seat to the Star Wars Ashoka panel. I for one loved this series and am looking forward to the rest of her journey. In attendance were Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Eman Esfandi, Diana Lee Inosanto, and Ivanna Sakhno. We got some great behind-the-scenes glimpses and a ton of exciting revelations about the future of Ahsoka’s journey in the Star Wars universe. Later on I heard a ton of screaming at one point and it turned out to be The Witch King panel with Jamie Campbell Bower. His star is certainly on the rise after Stranger Things.

I love that more and more cons are expanding the vendor floor to include yummy treats that you don’t normally see. Whimsy chocolates was one of my favorites! I never say no to chocolate. There was also some new vendors, including some custom soaps containing sci-fi and horror characters. Super neat stuff, but I’m not sure I want to cleanse my body using Jason Vorhees face!

I fell in love with this custom armored Grogus. They had so many different styles of armored helmets and a few came with knit hats and glasses. So adorable!!! I wanted to take them all home, but my bank account sadly had other plans.

I got to meet the renowned Disney designer and Imagineer Bob Gurr who was selling custom Haunted Mansion items. Talk about a legend! He’s still as sharp as a tack and shares the best stories and took a lot of time with anyone who wanted to chat with him.

What pop culture convention would be complete without a visit with The Room’s writer and star Tommy Wiseau? I love the bizarreness of this man so much. He is always so kind to his fans and never charges for a photo.

On the creepier side was the It van, “we all float down here,” which was totally spooky and fun. I’m not a fan of clowns, so I didn’t spend a lot of time inside.

Lastly, the cosplay was in full bloom. Check out mike’s recap on all of the best costumes.

As they say in the biz, that’s a wrap! See you again in 2024!
