FRIENDS wasn’t the only name of the show. Some of the other suggestions were: “Six of Us”, “Across the Hall”, “Insomnia Café”, “Once Upon a Time in the West Village” and “Friends Like Us”. “Friends Like Us” was chosen and was shortened to “FRIENDS”.
