You know, I’ve been in a funk today. I just have been depressed, my foot is killing me, I’m just not feeling myself. So, when the time came to come to the Mad Men q and a today, I just couldn’t do it.
Then, I decided to rally. I mean why not right!
I headed down the street and once again my camera wouldn’t work during the q and a. Grumble. If I had my wits about me I would have brought my smaller camera but alas I didn’t.
Mad Men season 6 is awesome. First off, Mad Men in and of itself is probably the best written show on television. It’s quite simply one of the most phenomenal character studies in this history of television.
Following the q and a there was a reception. CB was also attending and we actually had a nice evening hanging out. It was much like old times.
The first person we met was Kiernan Shipka who plays Sally Draper. Kiernan Shipka is so sweet. We chatted a bit about the show and the q and a I saw last year downtown Los Angeles.
Then she was kind enough to sign my season 6 mini poster that I brought with me.
Next up was Megan Draper… We had to get all the Draper’s in attendance back to back. I think that’s a rule. LOL…
Jessica Paré was in the best mood. She was drinking and posing for photos. We talked about her doing Bisou Bisou and honestly it was as if Megan Draper was with us this evening.
Jessica Paré then was happy to sign my season 6 mini poster and she said, “I’m going to sign on the arm, because I’m saying that mine so I can be in the poster too!
Kevin Rahm was next and I’ve been a fan of his since Desperate Housewives.
He was super nice and we chatted about both shows.
Then Kevin Rahm also signed my season 6 mini poster.
I then spotted Linda Cardellini about to head out and grabbed a quick photo with her. She was so so so so sweet.
I told her I couldn’t believe that Velma was sleeping with Don Draper. LOL… It was so nice.
Again, I had Linda Cardellini sign my mini poster as well.
I then may have had a few desserts… Fine, I did. Off my diet and if these photos prove anything it’s that I need to double my efforts. Sadness…
I then spotted Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner and he was super friendly signing my Mad Men season 5 press book and posing for a photo.
Harry Hamlin who has an arc on the show this season was here and I chatted with him about Clash of the Titans and Veronica Mars for a hot second.
He also signed the mini poster and I was able to get a photo with him as well.
We enjoyed the party for a bit and then spotted Jay R. Ferguson. I told him I used to watch Evening Shade every monday night when I was a kid and he was like holy shit, I didn’t even remember what day it was on! Jay signed my poster and I got a quick photo to round out the night.
Such a fun simple evening and I’m glad I ended up rallying and heading out after all.
I missed a few people including Elisabeth Moss but that’s okay. I had a nice evening and honestly a lot of times that’s way more important.
Until next time kids…
