Super Short Sundays – Madonna Edition

This week the one and only Madonna brought her Rebel Heart World Tour to Southern California. And when you are this close to Madonna:
“Nothing Really Matters.”
Madonna came to Los Angeles and San Diego on her Rebel Heart World Tour 2015 in support of her thirteenth studio album. As a mega Madonna fan, I can honestly say that “Rebel Heart” was not my favorite album Madonna has released. In fact, I was not a big fan after I heard the controversial leaked demos or the finalized versions. They were not the most catchy tunes. Once Madonna served the first six tracks for purchase before Christmas 2014, I could not wait to hear the final album. Once officially released. most of the tracks were not drastically different, and seemed to be lacking some of the old Madonna magic.
Still being the long time mega fan, I knew Madonna never disappoints during a live show, so I made sure to attend both shows when she hit the southland. Musically, the live versions of the songs and Madonna’s voice were spot on at both shows. She had me jumping, dancing, and singing. Her performance even brought a new love for the album that I didn’t love at first listen. Leave it to the “Queen of Pop” to show me what she heard when she was recording.
I felt the LA crowd was a little more affected than the San Diego crowd. The San Diego show was more fun as people were there to have a good time and not be “seen.” The LA show felt a little more “scenester.” In either case, both shows were incredibly enjoyable. Madonna continues to prove, at 57 years old, why she is the “Queen of Pop” and nobody can put a crowd “Into the Groove” like she can. Bravo on another amazing tour. I am sad that another night was not available nearby. If you are lucky enough to still have Madonna coming to your town, get ready to have a memorable night!

Nice post! The photos are stunning. It’s very interesting to think and watch, even our heroes age and dilapidate before our eyes. No one wants to see Madonna look like a crone, great that she can still get out there and dance.
Great post! I saw her in Los Angeles as well! I can honestly say it was one of the best nights of my life. While Madonna was strapping on her guitar, I began chanting “Secret” and soon everyone in my section was chanting along with me and she performed it! It was a personal victory for me.
