Maleficent Premiere Recap! Angelina Jolie! Brad Pitt! Elle Fanning! Sam Riley! Pushing! Shoving! Fights! And More!

Oh Maleficent!

I can’t even tell you how excited I was for the Maleficent premiere and the movie in general. Now, I love me some Angelina Jolie, LOVE HER! Loved her since Foxfire, since Gia, like old school love! She’s one of my favorites.

I had a feeling that this premiere was going to be nuts, I didn’t expect it to be this bad. I know a lot of people had better experiences at the front of the line, but to be honest you never know where to stand. Billy picked a good spot and I joined him after picking up a giant poster he printed for Lana Del Rey.

Scotty, The Other Mike, pretty much everyone was out for this one.

Ace and his brother Alex The Sly One were also here, thankfully they both had on their traditional hoodies to protect them for the 88 degree dry heat. You can never have enough hoodies.

I grabbed lunch with Ace and headed back. Someone made a signed that said “The official Disney Maleficent cast autograph section, lol.

I’m happy to report that we have a celebrity in our midst. Paul Bunyon is here waiting for Angelina Jolie as well. Oh wait, that’s Billy Beard. The man who can’t find a razor.

The funny thing is, someone thought he was Cousin It and wanted a photo with him.

They are making a giant wall, it’s down from us, but the space at this premiere is really small. Way smaller than say at the other Marvel premiere’s at this location. It’s causing a bit of a backup of people and a lot of crowding.

Scotty is very optimistic, he’s had some bad luck with Angelina, wrong places, skipped by accident, etc…

Billy has a 5×7 photo of him and Juno Temple… Scotty is picking out everything wrong with the photo, it’s stretched, odd facial hair, you know, the usual.

Ace and I made a deal, that I would help him with Brad Pitt and he would help me with Angelina Jolie.

Then.. It happened… The giant wall moved right in front of us. Ugh…

Great…

Some arrivals started, no one I really cared about, a lot of Disney stars at the moment. There’s only a few people anyone really cares about though.

Sharlto Copley is here. He came over but didn’t sign much or cover a lot of ground. Sadly, we missed him. Doh!

Then Sam Riley arrived. He started on the end and made his way down pretty far. Such a nice guy, very kind to all the waiting fans.

Elle Fanning arrived and went right to the opposite end. Doh! And then Juno Temple arrived as well. Oh that 5×7 photo came rushing out. lol. Sadly, they pulled Elle Fanning and Juno Temple before we could get either of them.

Once Upon a Time star Lana Parrilla is here, she always super nice and comes on over to sign. I had Lana sign my Once Upon A Time blu-ray cover.

And then there was a brief wait.

Suddenly, there was a drop, THE drop. It was Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. They went to the far end and so we wait for them to make their way down.

Brad Pitt was first and they were being super nice. Sadly, the security were being total dicks. they were pushing people in the front and letting people throw things from the back to get signed. It was a real dick move and some of the worst security bullshit I’ve ever seen.

Then, they tried to get Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie to stop signing only halfway down the line. I honestly could barely see, but we were all yelling and I could see Angelina Jolie arguing with them and I swear I saw her say, “But what about them?” I had Ace’s Brad Pitt poster out, but when they pulled him, I switched to Angelina Jolie, Then Brad runs back and it’s even more chaotic. Now, everyone is desperate because they could get pulled at any second, Brad Pitt got to me, and I couldn’t move, I was getting pushed so hard. All I could do was grab the board I had in my hand that had an Angelina Jolie poster on one side and Brad Pitt on the other.

I was getting pushed into the rail, I had my World War Z mini poster out and thankfully got Brad to sign that, but it was hard.

Angelina Jolie was right after and security literally pushed all my stuff down, even though I held it up, not out like they asked. They physically pushed my chest back, even though, I just had my stuff out to get signed. It was awful.

Angelina Jolie was trying to sign my Maleficent mini poster but thanks to the security, it bent as she was doing it. Sigh.

I went through war and now I feel like an ass x2 cause I didn’t get Ace’s poster signed. Sigh…

So, we all regrouped and shared war stories. A lot of people did great on the other end. Brad Pitt ended up getting sort of attacked by that guy which I’m sure everyone has heard about by now.

ugh…

We waited in the back to see if anyone was going to leave early. I didn’t think I was going to wait so long, but I ended up talking with the guys, and here I was… Sigh…

Cars pulled up, pulled away, ugh… It was rather nuts. And a tad disheartening.

After waiting about another hour and a half, I think Brad and Angelina Jolie left. I really didn’t even see them. So… Who knows.

Then we did see Elle Fanning leave. A lot of people left at that point and she’s a sweetheart. She went to the car and then came right over. She signed my big poster and my individual poster as well. She took pictures signed down the line and was adorable.

So, I guess it was worth that little bit of extra time, but still… Wow… I’ve never been in the midst of that kind of madness before. Seriously, it was so depressing.

And I have to make it up to Ace… Sigh…
