Manic Monday! Pinky Meets The One And Only… OPRAH WINFREY! Queen Sugar Goodness!

How can you not love Oprah, she’s an icon and is now producing some of the best content out there!

Pinky attended a rare FYC panel for Queen Sugar and was lucky enough to meet the “Queen O” herself!

How awesome is that?

Check out her recap below!

Hello, my lovelies. Pinky Lovejoy-Coogan here still beyond excited about meeting the Queen herself, Oprah Winfrey! Pinch me! As someone who grew up watching The Oprah Winfrey show, this was BIG time, my friends. Big time! In fact, it wasn’t until I saw Oprah sitting on stage that I realized just how amazing it was.

Even being in the same room with her was incredible. I kept looking at her and thinking about all of her shows I watched growing up; especially the image of her wheeling her “fat” across the stage and showing off her dramatic weight loss in 1988.

In fact, I ended up going on her exact same diet – I wanted to do everything like Oprah! She’s always been a great role model – honest, kind, friendly, and someone who follows her dreams. And the fact that she’s not perfect and has this weight struggle has always made her especially relatable to me. So, seeing her in person at the Queen Sugar FYC panel was a really big thing.

Keith was pretty sure I wasn’t going to get anywhere near Oprah after the panel ended and I had to agree with him that he was probably right. Still, just in case I had a chance, I texted our friend Lucas and asked for his advice (since he’s got like 20 pictures with Oprah already). His main advice? Say you’re camera ready. OK, noted! I loved watching Oprah during the panel. She was hilarious! So funny.

As soon as the panel ended, I got up to her first (since I figured if she was going to do it at all, it’d be with the first few people to get to her). I asked her for a picture and she said (into the microphone, to my horror) that she wasn’t going to pictures that night because if she did it with me, she’d have to do it with everyone (can I just tell you how much I HATE that excuse???). I replied that we were all fine, we knew everyone wouldn’t get the picture and we were OK with it. Nothing I said seemed to be working, so I switched gears. “I’m camera ready!” I screamed out. She said back, “Well, if you’re camera ready, OK.” I froze in my spot and she was several steps above me on the stage. Someone behind me (huge thanks for this) yelled out, “Go up there! She said OK!” So I snapped out of my frozen position and went to get the picture. Is it blurry? Yes. Is it still Oprah? YES! So thankful for the opportunity to meet one of my heroes. For the rest of the night random people kept thanking me for wearing her down. They were like, “We don’t know what you said to her, but thanks for getting her to do pictures!” Glad I could be of service.
