Manic Mondays! Meeting The Cast Of 90210! Classic Edition! With Luke Perry! Jason Priestley! Ian Ziering! Tori Spelling! Jennie Garth! Tiffani Amber Thiessen! Brian Austin Green! Kathleen Robertson! And More! Autographs! And More!
Oh my gosh, I remember 90210! It was essential viewing for so many. While I wasn’t as addicted as so many people were I did enjoy the first few seasons. I especially loved the Brenda years… Ah good times!
For todays Manic Monday, the ever awesome Ms. Pinky takes a look back at the elder 90210, why you may ask? Because the 90210 reboot has been cancelled and headed to the Television graveyard. I know Ms. Lindsay is going to be sad.
Check out Pinky’s recap after the jump!

Hello, my lovelies. Pinky Lovejoy here saddened by the news that the new “Beverly Hills, 90210” TV show has been cancelled after five seasons on the air. While in no way did it ever live up to the original, it was still mindless fun to watch and I’ve enjoyed it. Of course, as I also ran into the still-super-hot-and-lovely Luke Perry (who played Dylan McKay) this weekend, it only seemed natural to take a look back at the show that started it all for today’s Manic Monday.
“Beverly Hills 90210” began in 1990 as a teenage drama centered around a brother and sister (played by Jason Priestley and Shannen Doherty) who moved from the midwest to Beverly Hills and their struggles being accepted into a new school and environment.
While the earlier shows centered around causes, the producers quickly moved from these boring storylines to more of a teenage soap opera which made it must-see-TV for me for many, many years. I remember planning entire viewing nights around this show in college and still fondly remember these characters today just as well as when they were on TV.
One of my earliest celebrity sightings was when I saw the cast of “Beverly Hills, 90210” as they walked across Disneyland for a radio show. I was there with my cheerleading squad and although the cast was walking quickly by, I managed to catch up to Luke Perry and ended up having a conversation with him about the show and how I used his character as an example of a bionic hero in my Honors English class. Luke was very, very cool, despite falling behind from his group, and I remember “not wanting to bother him” by asking for a photo or an autograph (my how times have changed!).
Of course, I deeply regretted that decision for the next 20 years until I met him randomly at The Grove last year. Since I’m not a huge fan of that picture, I’m super happy about getting to see him again this weekend and having a re-do. Plus, Luke is SO incredibly nice and fan friendly, it’s always great to be in his midst.
Over the years I’ve been lucky enough to meet quite a few cast members from this iconic show. While I’m still missing Shannen Doherty and Gabrielle Carteris, I’m thrilled with the number of amazing encounters I’ve been able to have. There hasn’t been one bad experience out of the group!
Jason Priestley was shorter than I expected
and Tori Spelling ended up comforting me over a negative celebrity encounter I’d had right before I met her.
Overall, I was very impressed with their friendliness.

Tiffani Amber Theissen

If you get a chance to see the show on the Soap channel, or Netflix, I highly recommend doing so (although I’m not sure how their fashion style will hold up over time).
