Manic Mondays! Pinky Will Be There For You When She Meets The Cast Of Friends! Matt LeBlanc! Courteney Cox! Lisa Kudrow! David Schwimmer! Matthew Perry! And Jennifer Aniston… Kinda!
Thank you for being a Friend… Oh wait… Wrong theme song… Still the idea is there right? For this weeks Manic Monday the awesome Ms. Pinky Lovejoy is recounting meeting the entire cast of Friends! Well… Almost the entire cast.
There of course is one exception! Doh! I bet you can guess which one right? Right!?!?
Anyway, as I was reading Ms. Pinky’s article I sat there and was like… Damn, that’s pretty impressive… I have a Friends cast piece done myself but getting photos with the cast is pretty awesome!
Take a look at this weeks very special Manic Monday!

Hello, my lovelies. Pinky Lovejoy here in the brand new year thinking about the value of friends. That’s right, good old loyal friends. And what better friends were out there than the cast of “Friends”? Over the years I’ve had the opportunity of meeting all of them at some point or another (although one in particular doesn’t like to do pictures, ahem, Jennifer….). Recently I featured Matthew Perry in my “Manic Monday” and I think he deserved his own column. The rest, however, I think are fine being lumped all together.
Of course, this isn’t meant to lessen the experience of meeting them. The show was so awesome and such a major part of my viewing pleasure for years on end. I still think of lines from the show when I least expect to. It was so great and I’ll never get tired of watching the reruns (despite seeing some episodes more times than I care to admit). Meeting the cast one by one has been fun, so for today’s column I thought we’d just go through them one by one.
The very first Friend I met was David Schwimmer back when he had a film at Sundance a million years ago. I think it might have been 2006, but I’m not sure. The film was called “Duane Hopwood” and David starred as a divorced dad trying to get his family back together. I made sure to have a front row seat at the premiere screening. Sure enough, as soon as the film ended, I jumped out of my seat to get a picture with David. He was very cool and even chatted with me for a minute despite being pulled in a million directions by other fans trying to get pictures. Interesting tidbit: A few other cast members in his film were two unknowns at the time – John Krasinski and Judah Friedlander. Seeing them in the background of the group shots I took that day makes me laugh. Why didn’t I get pictures with them back then, too?
The next Friend I kind of met was Jennifer Aniston at the premiere of “The Switch.” Despite a small, contained fan cage set up by the production company, she still refused to do pictures. It was kind of bizarre because everyone else at the premiere did. Her excuse was, “If I did it for you, I’d have to do it for everyone.” Um, there were maybe 20 people in the fan pit and only 10 across the front row. Would it really have been so hard? As we’d been there all day, I couldn’t go away empty handed, so I snapped this horrible picture of the back of her as she walked away from us. Sad, I know. I’ve seen her so many times over the years and each time she ignores fan requests; I’ve given up on ever getting a picture with her.
The third Friend I met was Matthew Perry at a movie theater (as I told you about in an earlier column). I’m probably most impressed by him out of the whole cast because I saw him in an environment when he was on his free time, he wasn’t there to promote anything, and he still treated me with class. Nicely done, Perry. Nicely done.
The fourth Friend I met was Courteney Cox. She was much cooler than we thought she’d be considering I’d waited at a talk show before and she didn’t come over. It was refreshing to finally get a chance to meet her at a small event for “Cougar Town.” Even though she was pulled away to do Press and Security was trying to keep us at bay, we persisted in trying to get a picture and she finally called the few of us over and did pictures with all of us. She was really great about it and was a pleasure to meet.
The fifth Friend I met was Matt LeBlanc at the Emmys. I’d like to tell you that “Joey” was just as personable as you’d hope, but the best thing I can say about getting my picture with Matt was that “he did it.” Sometimes that’s all you can say and that’s OK. In fact, he did a few since my camera was freaking out.
I still didn’t get the greatest pics in the world, but it’s OK. I’ll take it.
Finally, my final Friend was Lisa Kudrow at the opening of The Book of Mormon play at the Pantages theater. I’d always heard that Lisa will do pictures if you get her inside an event and it was certainly true that night. Lisa stood and did pictures with a lot of people in the lobby. It was very cool. Sure, she didn’t give me a hug or braid my hair, but she did pose and was fine about it.
Of course, now I just got the theme song from the show stuck in my head. “I’ll be there for you….” “Friends” will always hold a special place in my heart and these characters will live on forever in reruns. I’m grateful for being able to meet them. I’m a lucky girl.

Pinky, that pic with you and Matt is the best one, because it shows the most cleavage. More cleavage > celebs.
Very cool!! I met all of them too but luckily I was able to get pictures with Jennifer. Those were the best days ever!!!!
