Robert Downey Jr. has signed on for the next couple Avengers flicks but if he ever decides to hang up his suit there’s one actor who wouldn’t mind putting it on…

Marky Mark has said, he wouldn’t mind taking over for Robert Downey should he retire from playing the character!

Out promoting 2 Guns Mark Wahlberg said to Blastr

“I would like to take over the Iron Man franchise for Robert Downey, [but] it’s one of those things where I kind of like playing real people,” Wahlberg said. “I’ve never been asked. Once I was kind of being talked about for the Robin role in Batman. Whoo, somebody dodged a bullet!”

Would he join the Marvel craziness at some point?

“It would really depend on the part and the situation,” he said.
