Manic Mondays! Sally Field! Pinky Likes Her! She Really Really Likes Her! Meeting The Icon! Gidget! Steel Magnolias! Soapdish! And More!
God bless, Sally Field. I heart her.
For today’s Manic Monday, the titillating Ms. Pinky is talking about meeting the amazing icon. Sally’s been in pretty much everything. Steel Magnolias, Soapdish, Not Without My Daughter (Scott and I love this one!) and i have to tell ya… I really do heart me some Sally Field!
So much so that when Scotty and I met her, we made signs and waved her over like two giddy school kids. That’s how much we love her!
Pinky was able to meet the icon at an amazing event that took place while I was out visiting my family.
Check out her full Manic Monday after the jump!

Hello, my lovelies. Pinky Lovejoy here thrilled to have finally met the one and only Sally Field. I’ve wanted to meet Sally since I first saw her catching waves on the adorable sitcom “Gidget” about a million years ago.
I have no idea how I was able to see it (reruns, I guess), but I thoroughly enjoyed every episode I was able to watch. She was mesmerizing on-screen and her antics made me want to learn how to surf (sadly, I never did get up on the board – I did try, though!).
Since she first appeared onscreen, I’ve enjoyed pretty much everything I’ve ever watched her in. I mean, how could you not enjoy Soapdish,
Forrest Gump,
Steel Magnolias,
or “Brothers and Sisters”?
Whenever Sally Field is onscreen, you can’t help but relate to her, root for her, and want to be her friend. She has that rare quality of making you feel like you’ve known her forever and could tell her your deepest, darkest secrets. I mean, Gidget would never let you down, right?
Last month I had the amazing opportunity to meet Sally while I was waiting to meet Cher (yeah, it was a pretty good night!). As we stood across from the red carpet, we saw actor after actor ignore our requests for pictures and/or autographs (because they were “in a hurry”…yawn…), but thankfully my friend help up a rare piece that Sally couldn’t resist walking over to sign. Once she was next to me, I knew I had my shot. I said, “Sally, may I get a picture with you?” And although she was rushed and a bit frazzled, she was like, “Sure, you can take one.” And I was like, “Actually, I was hoping to get one with you.” She looked around like she wasn’t sure if she could do it, but I kept reassuring her that it was OK, she just had to walk a few steps. Thankfully, it worked out and while it was a little stressful during the actual moment, it turned out super cute. Phew! I had so many things I wanted to say to her (most of all that I liked her, I really, really liked her!),
but instead I settled for the picture. I’m sure she’s heard pretty much everything already before.
