Men In Black: International 4DX Theater Review! Courtney and I Experience Movies In A Whole New Way and Become Part Of The Action!
As you all know, I love film and more importantly I love the film going experience. There’s nothing like being in the theater, with the smell of popcorn and the company of friends, being swept away to another world.
So, when it comes to introducing people to new theater experiences, I’m all for it. I’m sure you’ve seen how much I enjoy the new 4DX theater format. I was lucky enough to spend a wonderful evening with one of the most awesome people I know, Ms. Courtney!
For those of you who don’t know what 4DX is, let me give you a summary.
“Movies are no longer confined to the screen. 4DX draws you into the movie as if you’re living inside its world. We provide the largest number of multisensory signature effects industry-wide. With 20 different kinds of signature effects, 4DX creates the most outstanding environment for movies.
Every second counts in the movie experience. What matters is how we transform those moments into reality. Delivering precise and elaborate seat motions with the movie scenes is our specialty. Not only do 4DX motion seats have a wide range of speed control, they also deliver precise vibrations to bring out realistic emotions and feelings.”
So, I asked Ms. Courtney and much like Cher, she only has a firs name, what her thoughts were on 4DX and our experience going to see Men in Black: International.
Men in Black: International was a great film for my first 4DX cinema experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the fun and surprise of the chair movements, synced primarily with driving and fight scenes. Fortunately, the film had enough appropriate fast-paced moments and intergalactic gunfire to validate the additional “fourth dimension” amusement park attraction of 4DX.
Overall, the film provided the nostalgia and humorous CGI creatures of the Smith/Jones era, and I felt Chris Hemsworth made for a charismatic, modern man in black for 2019 audiences. Tessa Thompson would not have been my choice for the franchise’s “woman in black”, as she reads rather serious and did not exude a romantic chemistry or playfulness with her co-star that you’d expect from any similar “co-workers fall-in-love” trope. Yes, she’s the new Hollywood sci-fi darling, but I preferred the better Thompson, (in any comparison, I would argue), Emma, who’s gravitas and hairdo are worth the price of admission alone.
I have to admit, I agree with Courtney that this time especially the 4DX really worked. I always like the format as it adds a great dimension to the filmgoing experience, but I don’t think I would like liked Men in Black: International as much if I didn’t see it in 4DX. This time, the format made me like the film more than even enhancing the experience of being in the theater.
