Throwback Thurs! Meeting The Cast Of Weeds! Mary Louise Parker! Hunter Parrish! Autographs! Photos and More!

Okay so… I’ve been binge watching Weeds during quarantine and I just love the series. Mary Louise Parker is so so good. So, clearly I had to do a Weeds flashback.

I thought I would look back on one of the coolest days I got to spend in Los Angeles! Anushika and I headed to the set of Weeds and met Hunter Parrish and Mary Louise Parker.

I had such a blast that day, I have to tell you. It was pretty amazing!

Anyone who knows me, knows…. I love Weeds, yep the Showtime series starring my love Ms. Mary Louise Parker. Sigh… Sorry, I got lost there for a second. When I say or write Mary Louise Parker, I lose all track of conscious thought… Anyway, I heard that they are filming the seventh and perhaps final season of Weeds downtown Los Angeles I just had to go. I mean… A chance to meet Ms. Mary Louis Parker in costume as Nancy Botwin was too much for me to pass up. So, I gave Anushika a ring and she was down for going with me. I think she just wanted to see me freak out, or drool, or lose my cool, or any/all of the above.

Anyway, we decided to try it out… Sigh… Nancy Botwin! Weeds! Mary Louise Parker!


11:31 a.m. – We just parked and arrived… Wow, it’s fairly easy to find and there are four trailers… One super deluxe, two large and one split trailer. I’m trying to deduce who might show up.

11:34 a.m. – I really had to not think of coming today, like totally put it out of my mind because I wouldn’t have been able to sleep AT ALL! I was uber fortunate to meet Mary Louise Parker one other time, and she was super cool… but… on set is a different story. You have to understand these guys are working, this is their job and it’s about being respectful.

11:45 a.m. – Oh crap! There’s Hunter Parrish who plays Silas on Weeds. Anushika is like, call him over, and I’m like… no, let’s just wait a second. I would rather scope out the scene a little, and plus I think he’s heading to the set.

11:48 a.m. – I have my folder of Weeds stuff with me, yep… FOLDER, I’m crazy! Lol… and two posters. Again, I’ll be happy with two things signed, my main focus is getting a photo so even if nothing gets signed, I’m totally fine… I’m babbling… it’s cause I’m nervous!

12:01 p.m. – I couldn’t resist getting a photo with the filming sign… lol… yep, I’m a dork, and now the crew knows exactly why we are here. LOL… Ah well… Sometimes people appreciate the dorking out, it shows that you’re a real fan and not a dealer or a pap.

12:12 p.m. – Oh… Oh… Son of a motherless goat! It’s Mary Louise Parker… Oh Jesus… Oh Jesus… I think I just crushed Anushika, by grabbing her shoulders! Damn my brute strength!

12:14 p.m. – 16 ½ inch biceps that’s all I’m saying… and poor Anushika is only like four apples high.

12:22 p.m. – So, we see Ms. Mary Louis Parker in a bright floral dress, and you can so clearly tell she is in character, or in costume…Loving it! Sigh… We watch her walk to set and then head over to the other side where she left from. We are the only ones here so we don’t want to get in the way.

12:33 p.m. – Did I mention I’m super stoked, and nervous. I’m making Anushika Nervous!

12:37 p.m. – It looks like this is some sort of bank scene; I’ve really tried not to read any spoilers so when season 7 comes out I’m totally fresh. Weeds is like… I would say my favorite show on TV right now. It’s edged out Desperate Housewives… I know… Crazy times…

12:43 p.m. – It’s a beautiful day, and we’re just chilling downtown Los Angeles trying not to get shot. Its good times…

1:03 p.m. – Oh shit… Oh shit… I see Mary Louise Parker leaving set and coming right towards us. I mean you can’t miss her in that dress! Lol… I’m freaking out and I turned away. She’s walking super slow and can tell that we’re going to ask her something. And she doesn’t look happy… Oh no, I’m so going to be crushed!

1:04 p.m. – As she gets closer I ask Ms. Mary Louise Parker, if she would mind signing a couple autographs and if we got a photo. She was like, “Sure, that’s fine.”

As she starts signing for me, I tell her she was my adolescent crush. To which she smiled and I got a laugh. Then I totally fanned out talking about Fried Green Tomatoes and Bullets over Broadway.

She signed my two posters and then I got my photo.

1:05 p.m. – Anushika got a couple things signed for me, my Weeds season 2 promo lenticular book, and my Weeds season 5 counter standee. We thanks Ms. Mary Louise Parker for her time, and I started to turn, when I felt Mary Louise Parker’s hand on my hand. Ms. Parker said, “And thank you very much.”

1:09 p.m. – I do not remember anything that happened next but I probably squealed. I’m sure I squealed… Anushika tells me I didn’t freak out, cry or convulse, but I’m still not certain. I love Mary Louise Parker so much. She was so nice, and cordial. Even signing Aushika’s little autograph book for her.

1:11 p.m. – One of the crew guys came over to us and actually thanked us both for being “Nice and making that very easy.” How nice is that? I mean really! The crew thanked US!

1:23 p.m. – We’re hanging around to try and meet Hunter Parrish. Oh wow, there he is… Damn he changed costumes since we saw him that morning! How did he get by us? We asked him if he would mind signing, and he was thrilled we even asked him! He signed a couple posters for me.

1:24 p.m. – Then Hunter Parrish was asking who else had signed them. When I said Romany Malco, Hunter went “Wow, that’s going back!” Hunter was so cool, and was more than happy to do photos as well, and then thanked us for coming down.

1:34 p.m. – Really could that have been easier? I mean how nice… I mean… Damn! I’m still stoked and basking in my joy. Seriously! How nice!

It’s so cool when you meet one of your favorites from your favorite show and they turn out to be so nice! I mean really, it’s just amazing. And to get photos with Mary and Hunter in costume in what might be the last season… Dude, that’s just super awesome! Sigh… Okay, I need to breathe. Lol…
