MTF Flashback! Celebrating 25 Years Of Kylie Minogue! My First Time Meeting Kylie On The Set Of Her Music Video For All The Lovers!

As all of you know I’m a giant fan of the wonderful Ms. Kylie Minogue and since this week is her 25th anniversary… Yes, 25 years of Kylie Minogue goodness! So, in honor of the pop goddes I decided to take a look back at the first time I met her.

It was during the filming of her epic music video for All The Lovers… Swoon… Although it was super chilly, well freezing Kylie was amazing as always…

Ah, a nice leisurely day… Erica is going to come over and make some fun ethnic roll type food for lunch, and then we’re going to putz around, looking for posters or whatever… Oh wait, my cell is ringing… Okay, today is going to be insane!  LOL… Erica is now heading over so we can run downtown.  I’m tearing through my back room trying to find my Kylie Minogue picture discs, vinyl, and posters… lol… The call, you may be asking yourself was a friend telling me that none other than Ms. Kylie Minogue is filming a music video downtown LA for her new sure to be hit single, “’All The Lovers.”  Erica and I are heading down, and I’m practically shaking I’m so excited… KYLIE!
 
2:21 p.m. – Okay we are off, and on the 101… we only have a basic location, not an exact address sooooooo this will take some exploring. 
 
2:34 p.m. – I just had Jack in the Box and my stomach is a bit queasy… It could be Kylie queasy but I’m going to blame it on the Jack in the Box… That could be a Jamie Foxx song… “Blame it on the Jack in the Box” Get Weird Al on the phone pronto!
 
2:45 p.m. – Okay, so we just arrived downtown… and have drove in circles… lol… we asked someone what they were shooting and they said a car commercial… sigh…
 
2:49 p.m. – Now we think that those guys were lying… we’re going to park… 9 bucks at the Disney Concert hall…  Oh well… if we can meet Kylie 9 bucks is worth it.
 
3:01 p.m. – I gave Erica my Moulin Rouge original press kit that I’ve been saving for a long long long long long time.  I’m going to miss it.  But being the kind and selfless human being I am I parted with it, only for her.  FYI.  Yes, I want to make her feel guilty… lol… no not really…  Well, maybe a little… I worked to find it man!  Lol…
 
3:05 p.m. – I get the press kit back if we don’t see Kylie… J  I’ve actually loved Kylie for a long long time, and waited before her show at the Hollywood Bowl for hours to try and get her, but that was impossible… Scotty was there with me. 
 
3:17 p.m. – Okay, there is a giant scaffolding set up in the middle of the street, and it looks like a crap load of naked people gyrating on it.  Must be a Kylie video… lol…
 
3:18 p.m. – We asked someone else, and they said oh it’s a car commercial… but they had lanyards that said Kylie on the front.  Not very stealthy guys…
 
3:20 p.m. – Paps are everywhere… Security just asked us to leave because this is a closed set, so we went up by the hotel on the other side of the street.  We found the trailer though… at least we think it is. 

 
3:22 p.m. – Oh, they are playing the new single… I really like it! 
 
3:26 p.m. – Wow, it’s so chilly!  Of all the days to wear shorts…

 
3:29 p.m. – We can see Kylie on the scaffolding… oh my god, this is really cool.  I can’t believe that they closed the whole street off… I mean they really could have done this in the studio… but who knows…
 

3:36 p.m. – The trailer is on the other end of the street, so once we see her getting off the scaffolding we’ll head over to the trailer. 
 
3:45 p.m. – Wow, this new single is really growing on me.  I like it a lot… I hope she tours in the USA again… I went to the Hollywood Bowl show here in Los Angeles, and it was amazing! 

 
3:51 p.m. – I brought the picture discs for Chocolate and Wow along with my USA tour poster I bought at the concert.  I’m so nervous… I can’t keep still…

 
3:53 p.m. – Here she comes… Kylie is walking towards us.  They wrapped her up in a blanket cause it’s so cold.  She has these huge heels on, and she’s walking so slow because of it.
 
3:58 p.m. – We call out to her, and asked her to sign and she smiles and says, “I will in a bit.”  She then heads into her trailer as the paps take more photos of her… Sigh…
 
4:05 p.m. – I’m freaking out a bit, I’m so nervous… thank God she said she would do it!  I have this dream, and I’ve had this dream ever since I bought the Wow picture disc at the now defunct Hollywood Virgin Megastore, to get it signed in pink paint pen… ah… Pink paint pen… The Wow picture disc is screaming to be signed in pink paint pen!  
 
4:11 p.m. – Oh my God, she’s leaving her trailer… Damn paps are following her again.  She looks over at us and waves…
 
4:13 p.m. – I have officially just melted… Kylie is going back on the scaffolding…

 
4:14 p.m. – Thank Jesus for Erica because she is keeping me stable… My heart is beating so fast I don’t think my blood pressure meds can keep up. 
 

4:17 p.m. – This is my hot cylon moment, when Erica broke through the barricade, and got a pic with the “hot cylon” at the Scream Awards… I was like who cares?  Erica really doesn’t care all that much so it works out… Ah good times…

 
4:22 p.m. – I’m pacing, and I just called my friend Scott who wants me to get him something to get signed… sigh… there goes the Chocolate picture disc…

 
4:24 p.m. – Oh my God, I just spotted a couple friends of mine, Rod and Charlie.  I guess they are hanging out downtown… random. 

 
4:29 p.m. – They went to see a play at the Amanson… Apparently when they went in they saw the shoot, and Rod asked Charlie, I wonder if Mike’s here… lol… Oh God, I’m getting a rep! 

 
4:31 p.m. – Erica is now showing off her I-Pad to Rod and Charlie…She’s thinks she’s all fancy and stuff… Yeah, well who has the Moulin Rouge press kit little missy, huh… well you do now, but that’s beside the point!
 
4:34 p.m. – They are playing the song again!  YAY!

 
4:39 p.m. – I’m getting nervous again… I’m pacing now… Pacing… I just asked Erica to get the poster signed cause I don’t think I can handle the pink paint pen, and the unrolling… It’s a big poster…
 
4:44 p.m. – The unrolling is tough… and It requires coordination and my motor skills are failing me right now… failing!
 

4:46 p.m. – Rod and Charlie just left… There are four of us waiting… one guy has a Kylie bag… speaking of stealthy…
 
4:51 p.m. – Wow, that wind is blowing so much right now… I can only imagine how cold they must be on that scaffolding… Plus Kylie is wearing next to nothing…

 
5:01 p.m. – I’m spinning around, move out of my way… sorry that was my inner singing process… Did I mention I’m freaking out?  I wasn’t sure… Erica just grabbed my arm.  Apparently, it’s a little scary when a six foot three guy is pacing around with a pair of picture discs…
 
5:02 p.m. – The song just stopped…
 
5:07 p.m. – Oh, I think she’s coming down… yep she is… Oh God, I’m freaking again…
 
5:11 p.m. – They have umbrellas around Kylie to prevent the paps from taking pictures. 
 
5:12 p.m. – She’s almost up to us now… Her assistant asked her if she wants to sign now.  Kylie says, “Yes, let’s do it now because it’s getting cold and I don’t want them to have to wait any longer.”  HOW NICE!  I’m dieing…
 
5:13 p.m. – Security walks over and asks us not to rush or anything and then of course I fell off the curb… Security tells me not to move, but I tell him I was about to fall… I think he smiled… Kylie is talking to the guy next to me and is signing… She comes over to me, and I ask her to sign in the pink pen. 

I’m so impressed with myself that I got that out… lol… She asks my name and I actually said, “Mike” which again is very impressive and I then pulled out the second disc and she says, “To Mike as well?” I say can you make it to Scott? 

So she signs it.  Then she signs the Moulin Rouge press kit for Erica… Erica tells her she likes the new song, and I say “Oh my God I love the new song.”  Kylie smiles… I made Kylie smile!  Then I tell her I can’t wait for the new album.  This is all a blur now… a blur… Erica asks if we can get a picture because I have lost all words… words are gone… GONE!  And she says, she will, so I got a picture as well… I’m about to pass our or pee I don’t know which would be less embarrassing… both… both would be embarrassing…  Then Erica held out the poster and Kylie says, “To… “Erica says, “To Mike again… “ lol… yay!
 

5:19 p.m. –Kylie smile and says, “Thanks.”  We thank her and she’s gone.  I think I’m bouncing but I don’t know really cause I lost all consciousness… I’m going to pass out… pass…. Out… Erica, can you carry me back to the car… People don’t realize it, but Erica’s tough… if I pass out, she can do it.  She can carry me…
