Palm Springs Film Festival Gala Recap! Bradley Cooper! Spike Lee! Viggo Mortensen! Alfonso Cuarón! Mahershala Ali! Autographs! and More!
The Palm Springs Film Festival Gala…
It’s one of the first events that start the new year off. It’s always a tough event, you can go and get nothing, (I’m looking at you, the year I only got Alan Leech) or you get a bunch.
This year, I put a lot of time and effort waiting in the cold, I helped out Billy Beer who really wanted to go. But I feel good, that I was able to do things for others. That’s how I roll.
The event list itself wasn’t the greatest in terms of superstar names.
I really needed Melissa McCarthy, I can always use Bradley Cooper, Viggo Mortensen is a good name… So it was worth the trip hanging out with friends.
If it wasn’t for some guy trying to push his way into our spot for no reason and some other craziness it would have been a really fun day.
But, I’m happy and did well.
Scotty was happy he got a pic with Udo Kier.
Mahershala Ali was the first arrival and he was shockingly nice and came over. He signed my Green Book poster.
He was followed by his Green Book co-star Viggo Mortensen who tried to do one each. I got my Green Book poster finished which was cool.
Then came the BlacKkKlansman cast. Spike Lee and John David Washington were both really nice and signed for everyone.
Regina King came over and was as nice as could be.
Rami Malek arrived with Lucy Boynton and Joseph Mazzello.
Lucy and Joseph were happy to sign my Bohemian Rhapsody poster but Rami Malek refused to sign any autographs and would only do selfies. Someone’s a bit big for his britches.
Melissa McCarthy came over but sadly went the other way. Ugh… I was a bit disappointed.
She did sign quite a bit though.
Alfonso Cuarón was cool and came over. He signed a Roma FYC book and a poster for me.
Glenn Close, Emma Stone, Emily Blunt, Gary Oldman, all went inside with some not even waving.
Adam Driver came over but I couldn’t get my poster out fast enough.
Timothée Chalamet was nice and signed for pretty much the line. Judging by the pushing and shoving I endured to get him on my Beautiful Boy poster, he’s quite popular these days.
Olivia Coleman was very nice and signed my The Favourite poster for me.
Then Bradley Cooper arrived.
He was being cool and signing and doing some pics. He signed my American Sniper poster and my Limitless poster as well.
It wasn’t a bad night at all. Plus, I had a good time hanging out with everyone.
Until next time kids…
