Throwback Thurs! Meeting Michael Fassbender! Matt Damon! Bryan Cranston! Christian Bale! And More!

With The Snowman coming out tomorrow, I thought a flashback Fri featuring Michael Fassbender would be on point. This was the Palm Springs film festival from a couple years ago and in addition to Michael Fassbender we also met Matt Damon, Bryan Cranston, Christian Bale and more!

The Palm Springs Film Festival was this weekend and I have to tell you, it was a bit crazy. The lines were longer, the security was tighter, and it was more than a bit nutty.

I was also able to see Lindsay and hang out with her for a bit which was awesome! I love her!

The big change was that instead of being able to sit at the barricade they lined everyone up. So, that was kind of a bummer considering the fun of Palm Springs was that you could have a bite downtown, and hang out a bit. We didn’t know when they would let people in and the line kept growing and growing…. Whew!

Once we were finally in, we waited for arrivals. There were some interesting fashion choices…

Scotty tried to make a sign…

You know… The usual.

As people arrived the drops started. First was Steve Carrell. He shockingly came over and signed a bit. I got him on my Get Smart poster.

One of the shocks of the night is Alicia Vikander arrived, barely waved, and went right on the carpet. Wow… One of my best signers of the year just dissed at Palm Springs! WTF!

Mary Hart arrived and came on over.

Then Saoirse Ronan arrived and we yelled and screamed and yelled some more. She crossed and went to the other end. Sigh…

Cate Blanchett arrived and ignored everyone. Not even a wave. Lord.

Rooney Mara… Also nadda, didn’t cross, didn’t look over.

Bryan Cranston dropped and came right over but started going to the other side. Scotty was very persistent and kept yelling for him. Then finally Bryan Cranston came to our end. He was so cool. He had a black and saw that my cast poster was all done in blue. He said, “Would you rather I sign this in blue?” I was floored and said yes, if you don’t mind. That’s how cool he was being!

Michael Fassbender arrived and came right over. He went down from where we were. Then Matt Damon arrived and started signing. I had a poster but I couldn’t find it in time.

Doh! That’s okay, Matt will be around!

Then Michael Fassbender came back our way. The man is so awesome. So kind, and so nice. He signed my Shame mini poster and my Interview magazine as well. He then signed my Steve Jobs poster too! Nice!

Then next up Christian Bale who being very nice. He had a black pen but was nice enough to switch to gold for me and Scotty. I got Christian on my American Psycho mini poster.

Johnny Depp arrived and started at the end like usual, but his publicist was trying to pull him and our section… We got skipped. Ugh. I know! Sigh… That was a bite in the ass.

Finally, last to arrive was Kate Winslett. She wasn’t going to come over but then walked over. She signed a little bit and even though we kept yelling, she ran back inside. Doh!

Brie Larson and Helen Mirren didn’t come over. We didn’t see Michael Keaton and Will Smith didn’t show.
