Parks And Recreation Gets A Premiere Date! The Final Season Starts In Jan And Will Air Back To Back Episodes!

NBC released plans to air the seventh and final season of Parks and Recreation. The series will air back to back episodes in Jan.

As reported by Deadline, the interesting thing is, that NBC is scheduling the series on Tues as opposed to the traditional Thursday nights where it aired since it started.

The premiere will happen on Jan. 13th and will air episodes from 8-9 p.m. February 24th will be the series finale.

It really is a rare scheduling move to burn off the episodes of a long running his series, on a different day and over two months.

Parks and Rec will air two days after Amy Poehler co-hosts the Golden Globes on Jan. 11th.

NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said the following statement:

“Mike Schur and Amy Poehler, along with their incredible producers, cast, and crew, have given us one of the great television comedies of all time, and we’re inordinately proud of Parks And Recreation. In an effort to give it the send-off it deserves, we wanted to ‘eventize’ the final season to maximize the impact of these episodes, which really do take the show to a new level.”

I for one, fell in love with the series only this past year, and am going to miss it once the series ends it run.
