Hello, my lovelies. Pinky Lovejoy here bidding you the very pinkest of holidays. It’s so funny – I’ve been racking my brain all week to think of some holiday related story to feature in an article and then Jack went and reported on quite possibly one of the best holiday movies ever!
Jack, I agree with everything you wrote about “Love Actually” and echo your sentiment about urging people to discover the joy of the movie themselves. I’ve had the good fortune to meet several of the actors from the film and wanted to share some of the pictures with you. The only one I can’t find is Laura Linney (but that photo should be considered a Photo Flop anyway, so it probably doesn’t really matter).
With the exception of two, most of the pictures were pretty quick encounters with the stars – they were pleasant and happy to pose, but we didn’t grab a coffee or anything. The only two stories of note were meeting Rodrigo Santoro at Sundance and Kris Marshall in LA last year. Rodrigo happened to be standing in front of me in line at a movie and I was like, “I think that’s the hot guy from ‘Love Actually.’” When I asked him if he was from the film (this was a long time ago, well before I knew better than to ask someone a question like this), he said no, but then started laughing and looking at his friends. After a few more attempts at getting information, he finally admitted he was, in fact, Rodrigo Santoro. Sheesh! I’m not sure why we look like we’re being attacked by the smoke monster from “Lost” in the picture, but I’m happy he posed with me.
With Kris Marshall, Lindsay (from www.iamnotastalker.com) and I actually sang a song from the movie to him when we saw him. I don’t want to spoil the film for you, but essentially we sang, “And he’s got a big knob.” It made us laugh. Thankfully he had a good sense of humor about it.
Will be back shortly to share my latest holiday card with you. Until then, enjoy the photo collage and have a merry wonderful time!
